Down with that sort of thing! If we don't support Rock and Roll music it might never catch on.

I think Kevin is a very good comedian, this isn't a great place for him to demonstrate his material.

You mean a five second segment at the end of the show?

Big waste, I thought that was very funny.

Might watch him on youtube after Jools.

Whatever floats your boat. I'm 100% Irish and I've no interest in ceilis whatsoever.

I actually really enjoyed the show.
Was praying U2 would do Every Breaking Wave and got my wish.
Really enjoyed Ryan and I definitely wouldn't have been a fan before.
Its very easy to sit at home and judge but its an enjoyable night all round!
Was surprised it was in same studio as Brendan O Connor show, always thought LLS audience was bigger!
On way home for a good sleep :-)

    Woah, I was totally joking!

Ceilis are gas. That scene with Graham Norton in the caravan in Fr Ted summed it up.

Woah, just flicked over to TV3. There's a documentary called Blackmarket Ireland on.

Apparently there are some stalls selling counterfeit merchandise on Henry St!!

Did you guys know about this?

Do The Late Late Show do any prior research into the authenticity of the guests that they interview?

You appear to be trying to suggest that if they had they they wouldn't have him on. That's ridiculous. The Late Late Show has often had all sorts of charlatans and obviously fake people on, as well as people who most people consider fake. Just because you bought into his fairytale doesn't mean others did. It's probably fair enough to say Ryan could have highlighted these criticisms about him more.

It appears he avoided most of the really damning stuff -- ridiculously claiming that "non-disclosure agreements" prevented him from discussing them. On the IQ question:
IQ: Regarding his absence from IQ lists, O'Brien wrote: “I was about nine years old when a teacher administered my IQ test," said O'Brien. "Unfortunately, as I was nine, I didn't know that I needed to keep the paperwork for future reference.”

O'Brien did not respond to a follow-up question asking, since he was using his IQ as a marketing element, why he didn’t later take a Mensa-endorsed test in case that figure got challenged.

I thought there was something dodgy about that non disclosure agreement alright

This Walter O'Brien guy is a curious one. He actually seems like a really nice, genuine guy despite his success. He's obviously got an aptitude for Maths, problem solving and computer science but there is also a ridiculous amount of crap spouted about him.

He sounded like a bouncer there.

He sounded like a pervert ;)

And her informing him where her boyfriend had just come from completely went over his head.
He obviously was not briefed by his top notch backroom team that there was an important match in Oriel park
