Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought a full rendition of the song would spoil it and we'd never get to the "Anyway the wind blows" with a gong sounding the final moment of a fantastic song. :o

It was all in good nature! :pac:

Killing time is so easy with Howard Stern interviews. I have no interest in the celebrities, but it's just funny to hear such awkward, awful conversations.

    America...
Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney has been skewered in a new political attack ad - for speaking French.

The ad, released by rival Newt Gingrich, seeks to draw unflattering parallels between Mr Romney and another Massachusetts politician, John Kerry.

Entitled The French Connection, it features a clip of Mr Romney talking in French when he ran the Winter Olympics.

The Republicans are vying to challenge President Obama in November's election.

Correspondents say the highlighting of Mr Romney's alleged French-language skills is an attempt to portray him as an elitist, European-style liberal wimp.

...they had nothing to knock him with, so they laboured the point of him speaking French, stereotypical Europeans being liberal, and pointed out that another man who ran for presidency spoke French too.

They also insulted everyone in Massachusetts by suggesting that nobody from there is a trustworthy person.

Good work on that slander. I don't think I could have found anything worse about him with five minutes of googling.

So why are people so into clothes? I get that they have some place in pursuing sex but I still don't see how anybody can actually 'like' clothes. If I have a hoody I don't be all "Wow this looks so good, I love my hoody". Instead I'd probably think "This hoody will be useful for keeping me warm, protect my head from rainfall and allow me to store things".

I would like to hear other's opinions on this topic so long as it is my opinion.

What do the Republicans have against Europe?

All the candidates in the Republican primaries seem obsessed with the idea that the United States is in danger of becoming like Europe, which would be the worst thing imaginable. (Rick Santorum: “They have nothing to fight for. They have nothing to live for.”) The Gingrich camp claimed that Mitt Romney was a fan of “European socialism” when he said something nice about the value-added tax.

However, it’s been Mitt that’s been sounding the most Europhobic. He’s been warning that the president “takes his inspiration from the capitals of Europe” and is attempting to turn the country into a “European-style social welfare state.” (Do you think he really means: Takes his orders from the capitals of Europe? Next stop: “Barack Obama, Brussels Puppet.”)

What do you think’s up with Mitt? Perhaps he’s afraid we’ll all start demanding free child care and fresh-baked bread. He did live in France for more than two years as a Mormon missionary and he didn’t make many converts. Also, he had harsh things to say about the toilets.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/12/opinion/collins-the-primary-primer.html

It shows how insular and small minded people are if they'll vote against someone because they know a foreign language.

Also, from the benevolent Gringrich >_>

Wait. YOU'RE THAT GUY? The guy whos sister got him an iPad and then you sold it to someone, and then your sister wanted to see it, and then you bought it back? Wow. You are a legend my friend. That was the greatest thread ever. I'm star struck!

Yes. Yes indeed. I spent a month, trying to find an ipad/borrow one, then in desperation, messaged the fella who I sold it to, who sold it back to me for the same price.

I assume with charm like that, you've never been rejected. Usually, I get rejected by three girls, and try to drown my misery in €3 drinks. Sadly, all they normally have for that price is Tuborg, which perpetuates my misery.
