Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today on Liveline: reminiscing about how good the old thread was.. with a song from Danny Ellis..

there's so much toxic cynicism in the last thread, it should be sent to Sellafield for safe disposal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,141 ✭✭✭Yakuza

In before the (inevitable) lock :)

The last thread took 3 months to get locked at 600-odd pages, the previous one took 4 months with 1200-odd pages, the one prior to that took 2.5 years ending with 2600-odd pages.

Any bets on this one lasting about 6 weeks with 300 pages (to continue a trend :)?

Just curious - what's the vbulletin criteria for a thread being too big? - the total size of the posts rather than the number of posts?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

10,000 posts but the old one only has about 9,500.

  • Registered Users Posts: 327 ✭✭DuckStab

All those posts being left in a locked thread over Christmas, disgraceful Joe.

    Hello Lahhvlahn thread #4. :D

To celebrate the newest thread, Joe has decided todays topics will be:

How Joe found a cure for Cancer with Ippy.

Joe discovers that Jesus was, in fact, a Kat-i-lick just like him.

    Priests..........loadza priests and their groupies.

And finally......Are Australians rude when speaking to self-absorbed overpaid broadcasters?

    ..........g'day Skip! ;)

Are boards releasing a box set of the old threads for Christmas.. (foreword by Joe Duffy) ?

Genuflect, get out the nipple-clamps and pray for all concerned, especially the clergy of course .....then talk about something unrelated, such as his one-man campaign to cure melanoma at €85,000 a pop/per annum. Mentioned by Inda today in the Dail so he's hardly going to let that one slip by.

Good interview by Tommie O'Gorman btw, was half expecting Brady to say "I was only following (holy) orders" - he may as well have.

Mind you, it's the hot topic of the day, maybe Holy Joe might have no option but to allow a few plebs on. After all, he has an army of ould biddies on speed-dial at this stage ready to defend Mudder Church no matter what.

Recorded interview with Tommy Gorman, maybe 10 mins or so. He pushed him on it a bit but not really.

No mention of calling the guards etc.

Ah Platinum Apartments and Bulgaria update from 2006...

    ...And now the Angelus.

A Celtic Tiger leftover if there was ever one.

How can she get rental income if there's no apartment Joe.

    No sympathy for these callers.

Anyone who buys a foreign property without visiting the country first deserves to lose their cash. It goes to prove that cash doesn't buy cop on.

Muppets like these callers are too dangerous to have money.

I know a bloke who's confident he'll get his money back now his Bulgarian apartment isn't going to be built. Same bloke allowed an Indian accented person remote access to fix his PC after being cold-called by "Microsoft".

Joe quick to disparage Platinum but RTE had no problem with them when they were advertising almost daily for a few years.

Joe equally quick to defend RTE employee/contractor Brent Pope without knowing the facts (as if they mattered on Lahv Lahn).

not sure if your familiar with john o keefe , dean of law at portobellow college and a contributor to RTE occasionaly on various subjects , he was at one time editor of the SINDO property section and every week for around two years , used to whore for a property agency in clare called larionovo which was flogging property in dubai , this company drew huge investment from irish people but subsequently went into administration , thousands of irish people ploughed into theese projects due to o keefes testimonials and not one soul has seen thier property even built

I've no problem with Popey making a shilling out of this.

I'd do it myself if I was lucky enough to be asked.

If people are going purchase property on the word of a rugby pundit paid to sing the praises of a block of flats in Bulgaria, they deserve what happens to their investment.
