Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yep. The same way he asked Tommy Bowe what he was wearing...oh no wait.

He asked her straight out where she got them.

Big voucher for River Island on its way to Mr & Mrs D'Arcy for the Christmas sales I reckon.

Bit pointless being there if she isn't going to mention it. Are we just supposed to guess?

"And what did your other friends say to you about that behaviour?"

Just what I just said Ray, had you been listening you idiot instead of brainlessly reading out your list of questions. FFS

Val Doonican RIP on BBC2 just now.

He was a man who knew how to do Saturday Night TV Shows.
Pat Shortt played a clip of Val last night - his music was a huge part of our lives back in the days even though he wouldn't have been counted as one of the "greats".

I saw that one ... Val was going for years and years until he got his break.

A real entertainer and a nice man by all accounts

I hope BBC Four repeat their tribute programme to him soon called "Val Doonican Rocks"

Replicant Ray uses a tonal language

Falling tone "yeah, yeah", for misery topics

Rising tone " oh right?", when a guest contradicts his rhetorical question.

Monotone " yeah, yeah" when his eyes move onto the next question on his card.

Feel free to add your own!

They're the new clergy. They don't believe in hell, but they sure do believe in cancer, depression, mental unwellness, etc. etc.

Probably Catholic guilt about the salaries they're on.

Somewhere in Mullingar, Bressie is sitting on his couch pretty peeved off someone has had it tougher than him.

If you try to ignore darcy's questions, she is an eloquent speaker who is worth listening to.

But when you are getting topics like this every Friday and Saturday Night, they lose the impact which they deserve to make.

    +1

Am all for people with mental health issues having a higher profile, but it does them no service to have crappy interviewers interview them. It just makes their stories & their lives, sound so monotonous and depressing. A good interviewer can make them sound inspiring and uplifting...which is the whole point of having them on, no?

Much as I loath RTé misery story talk show bits, hopefully this girls story can help at least one person in a similar position out there.
