Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How much time does Nibali need to put it up to Contador? I reckon 3 minutes plus would certainly make a contest of it!

I have a feeling they were watching each other and didn't follow the astanas when they upped the pace.

It's an ad for "Vitality", the ad text might be blocked out in your location. There's a white one for another company.

Well Westra and Fugslang will be cream-crackered by the finish, and Nibali is an awful sprinter so you would expect Boom to win the sprint (if they aren't caught that is).

Nico just hit the wall, contador on his own now.

Strange Cancellara didn't go for it earlier.

About 2'41 I think is the gap between Nibali and Contador, huge achievement by Astana. Lots of work for TST to do. Eat that, Oleg.

    Stage 5: 1. Boom, 2. Fuglsang +0:19, 3. Nibali +0:19, 4. Sagan +1:01, 5. Cancellara +1:01. 6. Keukeleire +1:01, 7. Kwiatkowski +1:07, 8. Westra +1:09, 9. Trentin +1:21, 10. Lemoine +1:45.

Alberto Contador crossed the line with a deficit of 2.55.

Disapointed for Contador, but an amazing race.

Hopefully its a recurring thing, Cobbled stages are mayhem, but brilliant to watch.

Nibbles has everything set up nicely for himself, should be lots of attacking in the Mountains now as well.

I wonder if Contador bonked or had a mechanical issue because he definitely suffered at the end.

Porte did extremely well to get into a decent GC position. Looks like he's number one now

Does that mean he has to have a falling out with someone at sky now?

He'll lose buckets, he doesn't like cobbles at all. Could lose 10 minutes or so, he was dropped from the Contador group ages ago

    lol :D

In fairness I reckon Conty will Bishslap him in the hills easy, but it's a great chance
for him to shine and lay his stall out for his own future team leader position
(elsewhere) so he doesn't get stuck in the Super Dommy role for life.
    A good lad.

Not really, saxo don't seem to care about the team classification or the 2nd or 3rd rider placings, its all about Bertie.
Majka and Rodgers are well down too
