Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The Green Party probably took a disproportionate share of the blame for the mistakes of the last government - they must be looking in amazement at FFs resurrection.

    You know if the PD's had any candidates I don't anyone would give them as much stick as the Green's get. The PD's did far more to destroy this country in their 10 +years in government. The last leader is even a Junior Minister in the Current Government.

    Is Noel Grelish still a TD?

    In '09 The Green Manifesto was consider to be one of the best by a number of leading economists. They went into government after years of over inflated house prices and bad economics. Like The Labour Party they should have stayed clear of government with FF or FG.

    The Labour Party are in a much worse position, they clearly have more power than The Green's had with far more TDs yet they still seem to be following FG in ever step that they make.

    That's just a daft claim. Fianna Fail destroyed the economic sovereignty of this country over the course of a decade.

    The Greens gave people half-priced bikes and tried to stick up some wind farms.

    ...and gas & electricity bills and thus everything else in the country making us more uncompetitve at a time were we were hemorrhaging jobs. They want to stall the growth of the country on the farce that is wind energy.

    Their budget proposals include:

    • increase in tax on agricultural diseal
    • increase in capital taxes to 35% (a tax on savings and investments)

    Your analogy rather falls down in that there were ten times more Fianna Failures in government than Greens. And the fact that nearly the whole cabinet and the Taioseach were Fianna Failure.

    And that the Greens weren't giving any alcohol to anyone.

    I wouldn't vote for them, but let's not try to blame the Greens for Fianna Failure bankrupting the country.

    In fairness the PDs where feeding FF the champagne, the Green's were in the cycle lane. At least The Green's had the guts to fight an election. Many in FF and the PD suddenly decided to retire, or simply run as independents.

    FF were more the guy drinking and driving, pulls over and lets the Greens in passenger seat, hands them a can of dutch gold which the Greens chug as wanted to be in car for ages, FF continues on driving- sees the cops in rearview mirror, pull over- tell the Greens to get in the driver seat, Greens (being lightweights and drunk of 1 can) do what they told and when cops come they both arrested but FF get lighter sentence while Greens life ruined forever
