Just going through €2.5k's worth of prize bonds that go back 15 years (2 per month).

Total win over the time is €75 x 2. Quite disappointing. Gonna be cashing them in.

Little bit of a tangent here, but is there any information out there on the €1m/€20k winners? How many units they hold etc?

The most info on prizewinners I've ever found is to go to the Prize Bond Draw section on prizebonds.ie and that gives you a map of Ireland - with the number of prizes awarded that week in each county. The top prize will be marked with a large red star - last week's was in Dublin. It's not as good as the UK Premium Bond site that gives a really good breakdown of prizewinners/prizes and amount of bonds held.

If one was lucky enough to win the monthly prize of 1 million Euros would they simply send you a check (like they do when you win 70 euro) or would you have to go to GPO in Dublin with proof of identity.

Girlfriends mother was sent a letter asking her to contact them about a prize she had won, Obviously thought she had won a small fortune. Turns out it was €75. So don't get those hopes up too high.

    Good luck BTW.

What a disappointment that must have been!

Say for the top prize is there any way of calculating the odds of winning?

Say if you spend 1000 on the lotto versus 1000 on Prizebonds over a year.

    Very difficult or impossible question?

Lotto odds are the same every time. Prize bond odds depend on how many bonds are out there at the time of the draw.

Fair enough that Lotto has a fixed number of balls and PB are a variable over time but from a fixed point in time, say an end of year report stating PC qtys is it possible to calculate the likelihood of winning the jackpot?

Anyone got an end of year report for PC stating qty of PC numbers out there?
