Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

oh went to look at a lorry trailer advertised yesterday, seemed good value. Guy said he would meet him along the motorway, trailer was different than that in the picture and no plate on the side of it. Hot as fook

Anytime I've sold anything I'd be slow to invite strangers into the yard.

What do you do if you are selling a tractor?

I usually arrange to meet in the nearest village because of how convulated the journey to my place is to explain, if I don't like the look of them I'll leave them there, to be fair I've yet to leave anyone there.

What do you mean leave them If you don't like the look of them.

Have not had to do it but if I did not like the look of a fella I would not bring him to my house and yard. A buddy of mine had 3 apes arrive into his yard who had no intention of buying just scanning the place. If he had met them at neutral location he would have left them there.

I wouldn't judge a book by its cover, some right apes going but a lot of them genuine.

You can probably judge a customer better by their phone manner than their looks.
Was going to view a jeep last Monday but when I rang for directions he wouldn't tell me, then started calling me "boss". Then he bumped the price on the Ad. by 300 when he thought I was on the road.
He was surprised when I didn't arrive!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,241 ✭✭✭✭Kovu

If a person isn't polite on the phone, why would you expect them to be better in person. You can tell a lot by a persons mannerisms like that, even the generic Irish bye-buh-bye-bye-buh-byebyebye- buh- bye at the end of a call is a general indicator of a good'un.

Hate that, went to buy a Ram last year, told the amount, brought in cash, arrived & price had gone up €50, good Ram, left him there
