Do Antacid tablets slow down metabolism?

    Hey guys,

    This may be a stupid question but I cant find any info on it. I have a medical condition which requires me to take prescription antacid tablets everyday.

    Obviously, it takes food longer to digest than without taking them, but does it slow down my metabolism? For example, would I maintain my weight with a lower calorie intake, say 2000 rather than 2500 a day?
    I'm a 21 year old male if that helps.

    I can't see how it would. Even slower digestion is still digestion.

    Wouldn't a doctor be the person to ask? The one who manages your condition?
