What is essence nail varnish like? I've never bought it before but some of the colours look quite nice.

My favourite!! I'd get 3 or 4 days from it, usually do a quick coat over the tips after day 2. But for under €2 you can't go wrong :)

Oh my god I love this.....where have I been.....I love nail polish......One of my favourite things to do is paint my nails........I have so many........In fact I bought a new basket this morning to store my polishes because the old basket I had was too small. :D

My last purchase was OPI black shatter (they seen me coming) it cost €12.50. Can get cheaper one like Barry M for a €5. Stil I love it. I gives a polish a longer life. For instance I also bought Rimmel in Peppermint (LOVE IT) and when it began chipping I painted a shatter coat on it and got a cuple of more days out of my polish.

My favourite color of all time is OPI Linkon park in the dark (Love the name). OPI are expensive but I love the names and the do last a long time with a good top and base coat.

And when in Italy or Spain and come accross a Kiko shore I buy alot of their nail polish.

On my wish list is all the Eeyko nail polishes....Now must figure how to upload pics, going painting my nails with Rimmel in Peppermint!

Today I am wearing Essence Trust in Fashion:
    Again, not my lámh :p

    essence%2B-%2BTrust%2BIn%2BFashion%2B02.JPG

Just a little warning on this polish, I removed it this morning and it has stained my nails quite badly. :( My own fault I know for not wearing a base coat, but just thought I'd give a little heads up to other posters who may use it in the future.

I want this thread to be abolished! I bought too many nail polishes I can't afford and don't need today :pac:

I saw these Nails Inc London base and top coats in Boots today, I can't find a link online to show ye. They are special base and top coats, in a cardboard box and were hanging with the makeup brushes. They each do a different thing, wet look nails, prolonged colour, nail strenghtener are a few I can remember. Has anyone seen them or used them? I want to try the nail strengthener base coat but it was €10.50 a bottle and would like to find a review on it first :P

In other nail news if you buy 2 No. 17 products in Boots you get a red and pink nail polish and little heart nail stickers free. I now have them.

Which Boots were the Nails Inc polishes in?

My local Boots don't usually stock them, nowhere near me does :( So I buy on eBay, you can get a few of them (in a pack) for less than €10 usually. Sometimes postage is extra, sometimes it isn't, it depends on the seller.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,698 ✭✭✭✭Princess Peach

It was just my small local Boots. They don't stock the nail polishes, just these special treatment coats that are hung with the other nail treatments. They look good but are a bit dear, start at €8.50.

I got bored again so laid all my nail polishes out nice and took a picture. I did a count, its 58. I have a problem :o I love fads so I have all the Barry M graffiti nail polishes and all the Rimmel scented nail polishes too.

Ahh I see sorry i assumed they had the coloured polishes too, my local Boots don't have any Nails Inc polishes usually, they do have them for the current offer though. Wonder if it's a hint they might start stocking Nails Inc on a more regular/permanent basis?
What Rimmel polishes are scented? I never knew they had scented polishes.:o

I have to say the 'free' nails inc polish I got in boots yesterday isn't good quality at all :( My 17 and Natural Collection polishes are much better quality :(

Its a shame cause my other nails inc polishes are much better quality, this one is very watery :( It takes ages to dry and it peels easily :( Its also more of a neon orange than a (hot) coral colour :( Not impressed with it at all. :(

Here are the scented Rimmel nail polishes. Actually there are 2 new ones I don't own  Must have them. Read in a magazine today that Revlon do scented ones too. I love them, nice colours and a bit of scent. But people don't appreciate when I ask them to smell my finger :pac: Dunno what kind of girl they think I am.

Boots in Liffey Valley do a decent range of Nails Inc colours as well as the base and top coat duo packs. I have the caviar pack which I just got the other day but haven't opened it yet but I have the caviar top coat from before and I love it! Touch dry nails in 45 seconds.
I also have the uv top coat. It really makes bright nail polish colours pop.

In my local boots they don't have nails Inc polishes but have the top and bases. They had those new nails Inc cardboard packaged stuff so I picked up the 45 second top coat for about nine fifty I will let you know how I get on with it! I also went on a little shopping binge and bought three new nail varnishes I did not need (but really really wanted) am blaming you lot for that!! :D

Has anyone seen that commercial for the 2 free nails inc. polishes with the News of the Day? I bought one just to see what it's about and it's the Atomic and OMP! colors, but you'll need 3 tokens and you only get one in each paper.. so you collect them in the coming weeks, and then redeem it at a Tesco's from July 3... Does anyone know which Tesco has nails inc?

I think Tesco will get the nail polishes with their delivery of newspapers chickenbutt, since they're a newspaper freebie and nothing to do with Tesco.

I'm collecting them too, I love the colours!

My nails are in bits. >_< Those 2 coats of gold, followed by Barry M shatter and a top coat has them so dry and brittle. Plus I went bowling yesterday and I always break my thumb nail. Ouch.

Anyway, today I am wearing Models Own in Peacock Green. I can't find a nail file so the shape is rubbish. Grr!

Today I have Lacura no. 304 (from Aldi) with Barry M Shatter Effect in Black over it and Essence top coat. This is my first time using shatter effect nailpolishes and I'm loving it! I've found that a thicker coat of the shatter effect gives bigger & less splotches and a thinner coat gives smaller & more. Think I prefer the bigger ones.

I tried Barry M's shatter nail varnish-HORRENDOUS. A couple of nails I didnt apply properly but i dont like the ones i did anyways. It just looks messy and the texture is rough. Maybe the shattered look isnt for me!!!!

I've been using Penny's Glo Baby Glo nail varnish in a darkish pink. Its €2.50. I love it! I've had it on for 9 days and it's only now it needs to be removed. The top coat i used was Rimmel "stronger" (its a pinky colour goes on clear). Really impressed with it. Far surpasses any of my much more expensives ones for sure. Big pink thumbs up!

I just hope i can get it off.....:D

Picked up the Barry M effects the other day. I quite like it so far. I'm wearing it with a W7 bright green nail varnish at the moment, can't remember what the colour is actually called.

I put on two thin layers and within an hour two fingers had smudged.

You can get Barry M Shatter Effects in most Boots and Superdrug. They cost about a fiver each. The only place near me that seems to stock essence is Dunnes, I think it's available elsewhere too.
I find essence good, they go on well and dry quite quickly, plus they're under €2.00! I haven't worn one long enough to know about chipping but I have heard others say that they last a few days without chipping. Only thing I don't like about them is one of the darker colours stained my nails badly so wear a base coat with them!

Did this today its rimmel in rose libertine. I covered it with nails inc save the nail 45 second top coat. Top coat was fab and glossy and it did dry very fast. I am not overly amused with the colour though it looks gorgeous but the tips are starting to wear off already after one day of wear - not sure yet whether the polish or top coat is to blame!

BarryM can be got in Boots. I've certainly seen it in my local Boots.

In my experience, Essence doesn't chip or peel easily. I've had it lasted through washing dishes, washing my hair, fiddling with cameras, clearing out boxes, it certainly gives my Nails Inc polishes a run for their money.

I got about 3-4 days out of it before it chipped on me.

I have no quick drying drops.

I am 100% sure the polish was dry though :( I put on two thin layers I waited until the first layer was dry before applying the second layer.:(
