Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

But most of those countries have 'sweetheart' clauses that is the age of consent may be 14 if they are are with someone thier age or 2/3 years older but an adult having sex with a 14 year old can still be in trouble legally.

I wish more people knew this rather than tried to justify anything with "well, the age of consent in Xland is 12" or whatever.

I think it's still 12 in the Vatican City and some parts of North/South America, no? And I think there's only a handful of countries where it's 13.

I don't think a little thing like legal age would determined a few priests!

How come internet paedos are often middle aged men? Is there some sort of sick switch that goes off once they're over the hill?

they are all middle aged men in trenchcoats with a hitler-esque tash.

By not acting on it, you mean by not doing anything physically to a child?

So do you believe they just go around undressing children with their eyes? Hang around schools? What do you think they do to curb their urge? nothing?

I suppose none of them indulge in watching child pornography......Nah of course not.

Question: let's saw I'm a pedophile and I decided to come forward and seek help before I hurt a child.

How many people do you think would like to see me dead or at least locked up for life without consideration for my life at all?

In Irish law, anyone under the age of 17 is a child.
Except when you turn 16 you have to pay adult fares on Dublin Bus.

Well, he has another video, about a man meeting (Well what the man thought) was a 14 year old girl.
    I didn't watch it.

He made it quite clear that he does this to video them. And I reckon it's just to get some time on YouTube. The fact that he's at least 40 (as said in the video) and thinks trying to be the next Chris Hansen, makes him look like feckin' jackass TBH.

While this was certainly an unconventional, and for many, slightly creepy method of forming a relationship, the fact remains that Celine Dion was well over the age of consent (and more importantly an adult) when they started going out. Your post gives the erroneous impression to those who do not know the full story that they started a relationship not long after they first met, which is not the case.

It is also unfair to compare the situation to the men in these videos, who are actively looking to meet up with underage girls for sexual relations, already knowing the girls' age.

Not comfortable with the video being uploaded to youtube rather than given to the police. Just wondering have they thought of the repercussions on that mans children and grandchildren. Nice to see Grandpa on the internet with no actual charges brought against him.

First it was the pedophiles, harassing the young kids, then it was the adults protecting the kids, so the pedophiles used lies to trick the kids and now we have the adults lying to the pedophiles.

I sense a thriller movie coming out soon.

Be honest, for you it's more about pretending to be an underage girl offering herself up for sex than it is about making money from youtube

    You sick b@stard!

So you'd like to jail people for thought crimes? You have an argument with someone and think it'd be great to hit them. You don't hit them, because that would be wrong, but you do think it. Are you now guilty of assault?

And child pornography is wrong. Unless you're aware of some that was made without harming kids. But they are two separate things.

It's like comparing rape to pornography.

A few hundred years ago, it wouldn't have been considered that bad. But here's the thing, girls then were prepared for it. They would have been far more grown up than now. From birth, everyone knew that a girl was going to get married young, so their parents prepared them for that day.

Nowadays, people get married far later. We extend childhood. The fact is that an 18 year old today is probably as mature as a 13 year old back then. We extend childhood as long as possible (which isn't always a bad thing).

I'm sure out there, there are a few 15 year olds who are capable of being in an adult relationship. But lets face it, they're pretty rare and that's why the law is the way it is. It caters for the norm rather than the exception. The other option is to make everyone sit a maturity test before they are allowed have sex.

Just watched this video, have no sympathy for the men getting caught but the two lads doing this seem to be arseholes!
    !

Yeah those guys seem like dickheads. Watch the 'to catch a predator' with Chris Hanson they are good shows, the reaction of some of the men caught is hilarious. The rabbi is a good one and the man caught naked in the kitchen is funny too.

The good thing about the shows is there are no underage people involved, the crime is that they think they are dealing with young people. I'd like to see them done over here.

Pornography is a form of rape or sexual violence. Those watching it have no way of knowing if the people depicted consented for their pictures to be taken or distributed. They have no way of knowing if the participants were coreced in any way.

What a very stupid thing to say.

When you were typing it, did a little voice inside you not say "STOP, you'll embarrass us both"?

Or drugs or violence (off-camera). Or the person depicted did not give permission for the material to be viewed or distributed publicly.
