Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rang DHL as shipment was on hold, because of incomplete address. Had to give them phone number, and now it wont be delivered until tomorrow or monday

He said that they have told Sports Direct countless times to put the phone numbers on the packages but they never listen! He said if ordering again, to put the phone number in the address, as it will have a good chance of getting through.

Got package today, great deals in the sale - now wish i got more. Also got the free huge but ugly mug, i can always hide it at the back of the cupboard :)

I know some people hate these updates....but I just got my stuff too! And the free mug:) Hope they do another free delivery offer soon, sorry I didn't order more. Do the folks who own sportsdirect also own heatons/sports world? Same labels and similar brands stocked.

DHL keep sending my sports direct deliveries to my Grannies house. We live in the same town but not really anywhere near each other!

Like the DHL man is reading the town and going "I know a "X" in Athlone i'll just deliver it there"

still better than having to collect it off DHL or something though.

2nd order and 2nd mug arrived today. I was just inputting my tracking number on DHL when the package was dropped on my desk.

Emailed SportsDirect CS to see when the next free delivery weekend would be, excellent value.

Mine arrived too - thanks OP.

My teenagers only wear Adidas. :(

6 tracksuit bottoms, 4 shorts, 1 top, 6 packs of socks, 1 pair of runners (all Adidas) and a free mug for €250!!

If bought here, I wouldn't get much change out of €40 each for the tracksuit bottoms.

Great service. Would definitely use this site again.

Sports Direct own half of Heatons I think and stock their sportsgear.

Well, im guessing they will only refund postage costs if they were the cause of the problem like if they sent the wrong item or wrong size, but if you chose a tshirt in large of example, and it was too small but want a XL, then I doubt they will refund postage since it is your fault.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,543 ✭✭✭tinner777

im not sure? email them, it might take a day, but they will get back to you. I ordered some football boots for my oldest boys, they sent me trainers a few sizes too big, to be honest i didn't bother sending them back as they'll wear them next year.

They are the cause of the problem, they sent me someone elses order.

And here's me getting them business by putting this up as a BA !

EDIT: Hmmm.... I searched this thread for "mug" and got nothing. Guess I'm not the only one! Stupid broken search!

    My apologies.

all my stuff was perfect, apart from i wanted a pair of boots size 14, but when the order went through the size was still at default setting size 6. my bad, now i have a pair of size 6 steel toe caps, hardly worth sending back cos they want recorded delivery.
got another order since the postage is only 7.99 for as much as you want, still cheap when you look at the price of clothes here

Ha ha, the 24hr delivery on the mug is fair ironic.

I have never ordered from them before.
Are delivery times always as bad as the above? :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

Had mine in 3 days...great bargains...only disappointment was 2 pairs of footwear that were my size (9) but ended up being too tight so had to go back (can be a problem with some of the brands)...
Used NI post office since An Post wanted 30 quid or something for recorded del.
Just got a refund, since SD.com were looking postage on exchanges...

Will definitely be using again but ordering 1/2 size bigger next time...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,103 ✭✭✭Derek!

Thanks for the reply Wertz, does the small sizing apply to everything they sell or just footwear?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

Not a sizing issue really...on some makes or types of shoes/trainers I take a 9.5 and on some it's a 9. I was just unlucky (and one of the pairs had no half sizes)
Their sizing is identical to anything you'll find here...Heatons stock some of the stuff they sell...at a bit of a mark-up.

Heatons wouldn't be the dearest B&M place around.

No not at all, but having compared some of the stuff I bought or saw on sd, the mark up was fairly generous, even during a heaton's sale.
Been in sd B&M places in the North and their in-store prices are same as their website...
Not to criticise heatons, they're better than a lot of Irish stores pricewise...it's our whole system here that influences price.

just placed an order with them. The prices are unbelievable so I'm expecting some glitch to happen somewhere! Maybe delivery will take 6 months:eek:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 268 ✭✭Kid Charlemagne

wouldnt have any concerns forrest - ive got two lots off em - both exactly as i requested and bang on.
first lot took 3 days, second about a week.

    excellent site. prices are brilliant.

    is free shipping back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 948 ✭✭✭Antrim_Man

Great prices and have spent and saved a fortune with them and never one little hiccup. Lots of cheap Karrimor gear but the logo looks like a Union Jack

my stuff arrived today, everything went well, no hiccups and delivery was 3 days (weekend in between). The conversion rate was decent too, compared to XE Universal there was only €2 the difference on an order of £68.

The mug is massive, there's no way I'd have a cup of tea that big...perhaps I'll grow a few flowers in it:D

sorry Kristopherus, maybe I'm thick but what's the point of your post?

I cannot copy the Flash Banner that was included in the email. There was a big A5 banner announcing the Free Delivery(in the UK mainland only). I'm not sure if the last email re the Free Delivery in July was worded the same, and gave Free Delivery to all, as I have deleted it from my Inbox. Just wanted to alert peeps that the Free Delivery may be back.

Just added a few items to the cart and went to check out. Delivery is still £7.99 to Ireland.

I had a horrible experience with this company.

I ordered a shirt and they sent the wrong size.

Their customer service is incredibly slow.
It takes roughly a week to answer an email!

A month later I'm still waiting on a refund.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

I had no problems with a refund for two pairs of trainers that were that wee bit too tight for my feet. Simply popped them in the post (registered from NI post office) and ticked the boxes on the paper invoice which I included.
Had my refund in 3 days. Didn't even have to eMail them. Since it was my fault, I paid for return, but if it's their fault they'll pay (not sure how this works for ridiculous An Post charges)...
Patiently waiting for next free EU delivery offer
