Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stephen's Nights out are a bit over rated IMO. A bit like Halloween or New Years, packed to to gills with people. I'll meet up with friends later at their house, save my nights out for another evening. It is not worth the effort/reward ratio for me!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,925 ✭✭✭Otis Driftwood

Stephens night is a pain in the balls, specially at home as there are so few options.

My intention is to head out early, around 6 or so and hit a few of my regular haunts in town then head back to my local village around 11 or so for the night.Last year was fuggin horrendous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,404 ✭✭✭✭Pembily

Last year I was fooking ridiculous... I was a mess :o

Two if my besties are home from Oz and we'll go to our usual haunt and my lovely brother is collecting me :)

Forgot to include that aspect. My choices involve going to local pubs at my village (which are basically empty or full of oul gits) or hire a taxi to go into the nearest big town. But even if I were up in Dublin, I still wouldn't head out. The eejit factor will be strong!

I guess having friends spread across Ireland (and the world) doesn't help either! Not many of us to actually go anywhere at home. But obviously each to their own and others will have more suitable circumstances!

Im lucky in the respect that there are a core of my drinking buddies that are still around Longford and more importantly are saddo singletons like me so its tradition that we meet up tonight and cry into our beers about love lost and what not.*

*May be exaggerated for dramatic effect.

Huh? Town is pretty dead on stepehens day as far as i recall. Hardly anywhere was open when i've been out a few times.

Generally find that only local / touristy boozers do be open.
