Got the call about Deloitte interview for next Wednesday anyway,, wished I had got the other 3 applications in now, im such a tit.. anyway least I have one now, can apply in New year to others if I don't get it. only ever did one official interview, nervous much!!! But feck it, im not going to stress, im pretty sure il Ace it :rolleyes:

Not bad for a supposedly half-assed application.

(It probably was actually very good)

I have to ask, is EY ringing me to remind me to finish my application a good thing, or pretty standard?

Thanks man. Audit and Tax for a second preference, I feel I may prefer tax you know, but played the numbers game.

But id snap their hand off for either tbh, so I dont mind..

Id say that's a good thing, email is standard I thought, I got email reminders from pwc anyway.

THey can't call everyone cos they get over 1000 applications so I'd say that's pretty good.

If you got an interview and said your application was half assed, that's impressive

. Deloitte came to my masters class this year tho and I thought they were really boring so I wouldn't be holding out for them as a first choice.

some applications are still open till midnight so you still have time for other options if you really want tax?

Im in Nuig Sarah so applications are closed unfortunately.

Yeah wouldn't really mind which of the big 4 even though probably seen the worse stories posted on-line from E+Y employees..

Browsing through old threads I seen that they usually do another smaller round of recruiting to fill vacancies in New year, so Il aim for that if unsuccessful on my first attempt, never really done an interview before so ill give it my best shot , need the experience anyway..

Cheers! I dunno, maybe I'm being super naive but just with all the feedback from my friend who did the internship and the rebrand - seems like EY is everywhere at the moment so I'm kinda hanging in there for them but have all the other apps in just in case.

don't get that Galway thing... so unfair? Esp if you're applying for Dublin???? Good luck to you too anyway! Post here to let us know how you get on and interview tips!!!

Notice nothing has been mentioned about an etray exercise in the email, I have seen this discussed in the forums many times. when I was on the phone he just said an interview from 3-4. does that mean I wont have one. maybe process is different because candidates are in a hotel and not deloittes offices.

Myself too at about half 10 aswell. They did promise to reply to us from each stage of the process within 72 hours so I'm quite impressed with their professionalism.

I've already signed on the dotted line with one of the other big 4, but sure I might go for the interview experience and there's a drinks reception so it might be way more fun when there's no pressure to actually get the job :P

Congrats. Nope, I haven't heard anything anyway. Noticed in one of your last posts that you said you had an average leaving cert, what exactly does average mean if you don't mind me asking? I'm just curious because my own wasn't great and I'm wondering if that's what's holding me back

I submitted mine a couple of days ago, so maybe they reviewed my application fairly quick!

I applied for Audit. The International and Domestic Business Group, to be specific.

Just under 400 points in LC but had a legitimate exceptional circumstance that arose during same year which affected my studying, hence my LC results.

Have achieved upper 2.1, 1.1 and 1.1 in first, second and third year of my degree though.

It's not all about results though! Personality plays a key role, in my opinion.

You're right to an extent I think, but only beyond a certain threshold. If someone's coming in with a weak LC (sub 350 region) and only 2.1, I'd say that will weigh in heavily in deciding whether or not to offer an interview. Beyond that point, yeah I'd say strong answers to the questions are the key.

Don't PWC check references before offering interviews? Well, they ask if they can take up the reference you give immediately.

forgot the closing date for the Top 4 was yesterday so only managed to get PWC in. But have interview for E&Y for a non grad role so hopefully something comes out of that if not might ask to be consider for a grad role

I had completely forgot to send my referees an email to update them. Did that this evening though so hope no one got a call! Really hope I hear something tomorrow. This waiting game is no fun!

Got an email from KPMG just now, assessment day in 2 weeks time.

They have me down for Audit, which was my second choice which is slightly disappointing but at least they are actually considering me for it. I was worried that I'd miss out on consulting and not be considered for Audit.

They will only contact your referees if you will be offered a training contract . Well that was in my case anyway so I presume it's the same this year as well

They ask if they can take up references straight away, but I doubt they would in reality.

I got interviews with KPMG and PwC so far.
I applied for audit in both, got the email about it yesterday!

Who are going to the KPMG assessment day on Nov 4th? AdamD, you are, aren't you?
How everyone is preparing for this?
I got KPMG n Delloite, but I haven't heard anything from PwC.
By the way, does EY Dublin has aptitude test? I apply for EY Belfast and did aptitude test yesterday, but again, I have heard back anything.
