Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    'wooohoooo's' are normally reserved for one's 10,000th post. ;)

It's take me 6 yrs to get to 10 comments - at that rate it'll be 600 yrs before I get another chance to wooohoooo

BTW this post is where Frank Skinner gets his mail sent to - Post101

    Boom Boom

Are jerseys not part of the order? They're not on the spreadsheet. I'll add in a column for it but if they're not part of then delete away.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,679 ✭✭✭bcmf

Yeah add it in but we will need a lot more interest to justify the order

    Sorry lads I’m still confused….

According to the review ( http://crossbikereview.com/clothes/r...entropa-jacket) the Entropa is a shell jacket but according to marcofan it’s a cape “the entropa is a wind proof and rain resistant (verge say rain proof but it gets in eventually) cape

I’d define a cape as a light water proof jacket that can be rolled up into the back pocket of a jersey and a shell jacket as a jacket that’s worn on a cold and wet day (if you get my drift)

    So which one is it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,679 ✭✭✭bcmf

I believe it's a soft shell windproof / rainproof jacket that can be put on if the weather turns nasty and removed and rolled up into your Jersey pocket when the weather improves.
    Will get marcofan to confirm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 195 ✭✭marcofan

i would still define it as a cape as it does not have pockets

its much much better than a standard cape due to the windproofing so it will keep you snug

I've selected l/s defender but if orders aren't sufficent I'll change it to a l/s Jersey

    Just to complicate things like

When exactly do you want everyone to select their orders by?

I'm not going to have the money until the Friday after that. Just had an expensive stag in Dusseldorf last weekend. If that's a problem I'll remove my order.

I have the xl jersey and was gonna order the xxl defender as my thinking is that it would prob go on under a ls base layer and jersey.
But it would be an educated guesstimate tbh

Would it be the same fitting as the castelli gabba , if so one of my mates has one which I could try on

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,679 ✭✭✭bcmf

Just a quick question: there are no leg warmers on the order, right?

  • Registered Users Posts: 581 ✭✭✭fillup

Ok, possibly a stoopid question but remember there are no stoopid questions only.....

If you're a large and you're buying a jacket (the defender in this case) shouldn't you get a large as the manufactures would have factored in that this is a jacket that is going to have a few layers under it?

    Cheers

If it's really like the gabba, then no. The strecgabiliy of the fabric is what makes it warm. Ie it should be tight to ensure warmth

So you get whatever size you are normally?

And is there anywhere in Dublin that stocks Gabbas so I could try one on?

Not for me. I'm an XXL but in the gabba I'm an XL. Bike hub in howth stocks them.

    Fellow Boards'ies
Can you put your size's in beside what you have ordered.please

    Hi All

the DeFends are a tight race/aero fit jersey that would accomodate a base layer and a short sleeve jersey under neath at most
Verge try there best that if you are a large in a jersey you will be a large in a Defend or thermal jacket for instance but its not an exact sicence. remember if you have a boards jersey already and its a snug fit then go up a size for the DeFend as the normal jerseys are a sports fit and the DeFend is a race fit

just gonna fit one tomorrow in BH then put my order in for the defender

    The next bit is important.

LAST DAY FOR PAYMENT IS COB FRIDAY 17TH OCTOBER.IF YOU HAVENT PAID BY THEN YOUR ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED AS THE ORDER WILL BE PLACED ON THE MONDAY.

ITS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU PUT YOUR BOARDS USERNAME AS THE REFERENCE WHEN PAYING SO WE KNOW WHO HAS PAID WHAT.

    Any questions?

    Good.
    Carry on.

  • Registered Users Posts: 581 ✭✭✭fillup

Just paid, then realised Dav sent out PMs with the payment details last time. Can't imagine they've closed the account, but is Dav intending doing the same again? Alternatively I (or he) can post the account details here

Wouldnt imagine they have changed but you wouldn't know!
Yeah similar to last time except they wont be prepaying so whoever has paid by the Friday - that will be the order!#

I think the details will be sent by pm. I think the accounting people were overly excited about having the details in a public forum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,598 ✭✭✭rizzodun

So... I'm waiting for the pm with the payment details then? Once the whole colour of MTB jersey is ironed out of course.

Dav is afk until the 14th. Seems even he gets holidays occasionally. Niamh is the one to ask about the bank account in his absence.

I won't have the money until the 17th. I can do a lodgement that day - or drop it in to HQ at lunchtime (bank draft if necessary). If neither is suitable then I'll have to wait until the next order :(
