Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's always a useful chant to not have to hear when getting a tattoo alright ;)

Have to decided to turn my Ghost Tom Brady tattoo into a full sleeve dedication to American Football. I'm booked in for next Friday to get the following works by the same artist (Florian Nicolle) added to my lower arm :)

Sounds like an awesome sleeve in the works JMH, where are you planning on putting the two WR's?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭JaMarcus Hustle

I'm thinking the Packers player (the green one) one the inside of my arm under my elbow and the Bengals player on the outside, though I won't really know until I see the stencils.

If you'd have told me this time last year I'd have a Tom Brady tattoo, I'd have said fair enough. If you said I'd also have a Donald Driver and TJ Houshmanzazazadadahzhaeh (sic.) tattoo, I'd have asked what you were smoking! :pac:

Came out brilliant Maire, seen him post up on Facebook. Bet you're delighted with it :).

Thanks Marty :) Yeah it's brilliant. People love it as well - even people who don't like tattoos (the kind who don't see the point and just don't like them fullstop  ) are commenting on the detail. Can't seem to convince people I got it for Sherlock and not Benedict Cumberbatch but meh ... :)

Have to say that's as good a tattoo as I've seen in a long time.

Thanks :) I'm so happy with it. To be honest it takes some artist to turn "I want Sherlock and a cat" into a tattoo like that. Detail is savage.

It took 5 1/2 hours - I was hoping it would hurt because I have 3 decent size tattoos now and should be calling a halt - but it didn't hurt ... sooooo ... what'll I get next? :D

Penalty. Defense. Looking at Tom Brady. 15 yards from the spot of the foul. :P

Thanks, yeah I'm really happy with it. I haven't thrown up a picture of the 2nd player yet because it didn't heal well. I've always used Tattoo Goo as I find it easier to apply - I find Bepanthen to be a bit too heavy. But I didn't have any Goo for the second one, so I used Bepanthen and my lower arm started getting lumps and spots which would then break the skin at the tiniest little scratch. Should be okay though for my next session on the 27th :D

Just a tip on the Bepanthen. If you ever do use it again, stick it in a glass of hot water for a minute or so, this will thin the cream out, making it much easier to apply.

Very nice Niallam love big back pieces keeping mine balnk till I come up with an idea for it :).

Who's the artist? I could hazard a guess but wont for fear of being wrong :pac:.

Niallam that backpiece is coming along very nicely indeed.

Adiboo what are the palms like to get done? I'd wager that the circles might well fade fairly quickly though.

Excruciating, haha. Yep, the palms will fade a lot faster than anywhere else. I have the inside of my finger done for over a year now with no fading though, so I guess time will tell. If and when they fade, we'll just have to rehit them again and again until it sticks :)

I thought the side of my head was the easiest tattoo I have had done, but then I also usually sit for a lot longer than this one, so YMMV.

Forgot to report back in after 2 weeks, so here's a month and a bit and also pretty apt I post it this weekend ;) No real noticeable loss in them so far. Little bits of blowout here and there, nothing I'm fussed about. They're palm tattoos, not a work of art, as long as they keep their general shape, I'm happy.

Is that just because of where they are?

Probably yeah, for the most part. It was his first time doing palms too and the skin there is different to tattoo than skin elsewhere.

Ah right. Just curious because some of my tattoos have blown out but I think it must be something to do with my skin as opposed to the artist or where the tattoos are.

I've had a few bits of blow out too. It's usually on the tender skin like inner forearm that blowout for me. I have my whole right forearm blacked out and on the inside it blew out. Kinda a light blueish colour. Hit it once with a shot of laser, lightened it a bit. But I don't really care as it will be covered eventually.

Yeah I usually tend to get mine touched up which helps a lot but still a bit frustrating that it happens in the first place. Never considered laser though.
