Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It is in the irish independent either today Friday or on saturday? Voucher is for €10 off a €50 spend.

Update, it is in Saturdays paper. There might also be one in Sundays paper?

I saw a till person refusing to take them in Tesco Kilbarrack. The reason given that Tesco only intend to take the vouchers posted out to people.

According to their facebook post yesterday "Don't forget to pick up a copy of The Irish Sun this Saturday and the Sunday Independent! Both papers will be giving away 2 x €10 coupons off a €50 spend in Lidl!"

EDIT: SORRY the above if for Lidl not Aldi

I used an Aldi one in Tesco last week, no problem.

Note that they cannot be used in Tesco Express stores but are valid in all other Tesco's.

We tried to use 1 of them in Tesco Tallaght on the 5th but they said they only accepted them the day they were published (30th March)

Are their any limitations on the items to be bought with these vouchers?

    I don't doubt that but I wouldn't assume they'll be accepted

I bought 2 x €25 Tesco Mobile top-ups with one yesterday so mobile top-ups/itunes cards which are usually excluded are not excluded with this promotion.

So which Tescos are accepting the Lidl / Aldi vouchers?
I've already seen that Kilbarrack isn't.
I'd love to buy some phone creit with one.

Aldi is closed next Sunday so that might be the reason.

I have used 2 aldi vouchers in Tesco Swinford with no problems.

i suggest that if Tesco refuse to honour their advertisements, just leave the messages at the checkout and go shop in Lidl/Aldi.

Aldi are doing the 10 euro off again in Sundays independent, it seems to be 10 euro off a 50 euro spend. Can't post the link but its in todays indo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 106 ✭✭Hiddden

Do you mean it'll be on the newspaper for this Sunday?

Yep the voucher will be in this Sundays independent, it didn't say when it is valid for though.

What's even better, Aldi have joined with the Sunday Independent this week to offer every reader a €10 voucher when you spend €50 or more.
Only in the week's Sunday Independent.

Why is Aldi doing this promotion now? It's not as though they need help to increase footfall given their recent market share gain. Odd time of year in my opinion

  • Registered Users Posts: 74 ✭✭Jack Sawyer

I suppose you could wear a disguise in case anyone saw you buying the Sunday Independent..... Then bring it home, remove the voucher, shred it and then burn the shreds and then bury the ashes.

    Thanks re-poster ;)

It's an awful pity that Aldi won't sell the papers that the vouchers are in, would make things very simple. :)
