Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone tried Lactase Enzymes to help digest dairy?

So I recently cut out all gluten and dairy from my diet. This included protein shakes. Within a week I felt wayy better. Much less inflammation and bloating. However, I was finding it hard to get in enough protein through food, so I invested in a bag of Micellar Casein protein. After my first scoop of it (with almond milk) I felt awfully bloated and haven't touched it since.

I've since started taking a digestive enzyme which includes 2000ALU per cap of Tilactase. I'm going to leave it another week til I try the protein again. Will 1 tablet be enough to help me digest lactose containing products? I've seen some of the individual Lactase enzymes have 9000ALU per cap.

Has anyone here conquered their lactose intolerance?

Why not but whey isolate instead?

I have a couple of minor injuries that have stuck with me over the years. Slight pain in one side of my lower back, and where I tore my PCL in my knee a few years back. I can tell when I've eaten something that doesn't agree with me immediately as these injuries will start to flare up again. In general, my joints feel way loser and my movements more fluid when I've not eaten dairy in a while.

Mellor, in hindsight I should have chosen Whey Isolate but I read that Micellar Casein was like the slow-release equivalent of Isolate. Also, I love the way you can make protein desserts with the casein. I ended up trying it again last night with the digestive enzymes and didn't react quite as badly but it still left me feeling a bit sluggish and boated. I'm just going to avoid it and eat real food instead.
