Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dang it, I was hoping i would get away with that. I guess I'm going to have to pay taxes and import duty as well :( how much were you charged?

I ordered a CROSSOVER 27Q LED-P the weekend and it was dispatched this morning by dream-Seller. How long did it take your to get to Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

Still waiting to receive it. Took 3 days to get to Ireland if I remember correctly. I'll get in touch with them tomorrow when the holiday weekend is over and they're back to work.

Will you have to go to customs yourself to take it?! I got skyline parts from Japan, so delivery company payed the customs and I had to pay them after.

I haven't bothered trying tbh, because its a 2C model so only goes up to 67Hz apparently. I'm also not gaming at the moment as my PC is in bits.

Probably depends on what you want it for. I imagine it has input lag, has under 120 hz and no 3d so I wouldn't want it for gaming but I imagine it looks excellent. So it would be better on that basis. Also it's big :D

Well I had an option to go ips 27 catleap 1440p or 3 monitor setup and I am going 3 monitor setup. For gaming I find it more fun. The viewing angle is briliant for fps too. You can say waaaay more of the battlefield. :) I presume it's a matter of taste.

huh? what do you mean? do you need to send a recept you got for that monitor to post, so they calculate taxes etc?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

Yes, and they specifically crossed out seller invoice and underlined Paypal / Credit card receipt.

I think I might prefer the 3 monitors, but if I could get one huge 0 input lag 120hz 3D HD IPS monitor, oh baby! I wouldn't use multimonitor gaming much so it's taste really.

You can easily photoshop that or do it in ms paint. ;)

Did you get them to write that it cost a small amount or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

I didn't ask them to do anything. Someone said earlier that theirs was marked as $100 but whatever I just sent the real paypal thing as a pdf.

    :(

More honest than me. Hit up dutycalculator.com to see how much you should be charged. Wonder what total will be now, hope it doesn't ruin the sweet deal.

So they've released my monitor from customs. No response to my email, so I imagine I'm now going to be expected to have an unpredictable amount of cash for the postman when he shows up tomorrow morning? :/

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,104 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

Pretty much yes. Or they take it back and then tell you. :S

You can call their careline with your tracking number and they can tell you about your package.

Well I got mine this morning. €70 customs which isn't too bad. It's a 2C from what I can tell.

Now it won't work with my PC! Connected to the DVI-D of my 6850, flashing green light on the monitor and no picture. Gah.

Whew, got it to work. A combination of switching ports and using Windows monitor settings instead of catalyst.

    Looks amazing.

If you's could get some pictures to edit to the first post it'd be great.

I'm very interested in your comparison between this and your other IPS. what monitor is your old one?

happy days Brian. she's stunning isn't she?

I'll try get my PC back together today. I've been procrastinating on it cause I'm so annoyed about its bsods that i want to throw it out the window. I'll take some pics if ye like but it'll be with my phone. I'll update them in May when i get DSLR back.

any particular games you're interested in seeing benchmarks?
I can say in BF3 in real world scenarios online 64 player maps i play everything ultra but 2xAA and i get a solid 85fps that drop to 65 under intense action. haven't played metro map on it though, cause i don't like it, but i imagine its one of the few where ill actually take a hit on fps.

F1 2011 all ultra presets the benchmark says average fps is 74 with a min of 62:-)

rig in my sig. my GPU is a HD6990 OC to 880/1250.

Got a Dell 2007WFP (20.1") at the moment, nearly 5 years old at this stage so it'll be interesting to see how they compare.
    I'll know later on tonight!

One thing I don't think I've fully taken into consideration with the new one is the size increase.... but sure "Go Big or Go Home" :D

And the dell has a nicer stand and warranty. It would be worth it if you could guarantee not to get charged by customs...
