Cesar Millan show in Dublin

Hi All
Just seen that Cesar is playing the O2. Does anyone know what format the show takes...i.e. do you bring your dog along???

I would doubt you could bring your dog - I'd say it's a human only viewing.

He may have dogs on the stage or whatever but can you imagine the chaos if even every 3rd person brought a dog? Highly highly doubtful you can. You probably watch him in action with dogs on the stage or he may explain techniques to the audience.

I'm sure the content will somehow be tailored towards those attending the I.K.C. show earlier that day. Can't imagine what he could possibly do though. It wouldn't take him long to talk through his dog training philosophy.........

It's a dogs only show folks. All humans to be tethered outside...or in the bar.

For every one person that agrees with Milans methods, there is one who does not, small taps to the neck and treadmills are not cruel! They are drastic in some peoples eyes, but the dogs are clearly as Milan says, rehabilitated. He has saved many pets, and in some cases relationships! And he does believe in affection to dogs, but only when the dogs are not jumping around like lunatics!

He knows what he's doing and how to milk it for everything it's worth, but damn it he does it well! The dogs he uses power against are always dogs that are either after biting or attempted to bite him. Aminals need to know that they are not permitted to harm humans. What if he didnt use power and a Pit-Bull savaged a child? He has 3 pitbulls, all of whom are great animals and clearly love Cesar! If he was cruel they would not be so happy to see him!

My advice: Hold on to your money until the next time Ian Dunbar comes to town. He held seminars in Dog Training Ireland this year and I'm hoping he will be back.

Plenty of dogs will be happy to see their owners even if the owner has been cruel, some of his methods make sense but others aren't fair on the dog.

Doing stuff with rescues doesn't automatically make him the best trainer around though.

Personally wouldn't waste my time or money on him.

I would never say he is the best trainer out there, but many of his methods do actually work. I do believe his ideas to do with exercise and keeping dogs at your heel are great though!

Doesn't Cesar base his methods on feral dogs he witnessed growing up in Mexico rather than wolf packs???
I also once watched a documentary on Jane Goodall who based her parenting methods on how she witnessed her chimp groups do it - just an observation!

Ian Dunbar using leash corrections? Does this mean you guys all have to start hating him now?

For what it's worth, I like both Dunbar and Milan. There's a lot we can learn from both. Both have good dog skills and neither are cruel to dogs.

I am looking forward to Cesar. Booked my VIP tickets. I think he is brilliant and it looks like he is going to get a good turn out. We can all learn alot from him. Some people may not agree with everything he does, but I cant see no bad in him, he seems to get results and certainly has something when it comes to helping the worse type of dog cases. To me he is the best. I cant wait for the show.

I think I'm probably in the majority of dogs owners, who don't really know what to believe about Cesar Milan. I've watched his programmes, and I like a lot of what he does. BUt then I've also read a lot about how his methods can have a very negative impact on the dogs he's working with. Watching a TV show you don't get a true idea of what he does, and how effective and cruel or not it is. So I would really like to watch him work on a challenging dog, so that I can make my own mind up about him. I'll never get that chance, and so would like to go and see him, but can't afford those kind of prices.

It will be interesting to read the feedback after the show and see what people have to say.

Malcom McDowell spent an afternoon with Ceaser, and as he rightly pointed out, the show is heavily edited, so that what we the viewer sees if the 'touching' the 'grabbing' and indeed the drama. According to him( Mcdowell) the actual afternoon is over several hours and Ceaser is gentle, kind and decisive. Frankly, having watched the show a lot, he seems more to place the blame on owners, and even if he does use new age talky claptrap at times, he is CLEARLY working to make owners and dogs more compatible and I do like a lot his much voiced opinion that it is NOT the breed at fault but individual poor behaviour.

For me seeing is believing, I don't adopt others opintions as my own, I have my own mind and I will make it up myself and personally I can't wait for Paddy's to see if Cesar is all he's made out to be, good or bad before dismissing him.

I've no intention of dismissing him, others do based on the what they've read or seen on an hour long programme instead of making their own minds up. For me Paddy's Day will be an opportunity to observe him in the flesh, no editing or people telling me what to believe. If there are things I don't agree with well at least I will have made my own mind up.

i agree with wat ya say...a bit. every one is entitled to their own opinions but do one thing on paddy's day though...go in their with an open mind. we could all be writing bad things about him the next day or we could end up building a shrine to him!! one thing for sure twil be good to see it in real life!!
