I cant say. It's the case of plumping for the new shiny option or a retread. Didn't see any other name out there which I would say we should go for. Might get the Defense to play better. I do feel that we need a HC from the D side and bring in a new OC.

The draft strategy that Gettleman will have should be interesting.

Defensive coordinator for the Cardinals the past three seasons. In each of those years, Arizona ranked in the top six in defense.

Hopefully he can get control of the Defence and taht we won't have the discipline issues from last year

I still think it will be interetsing to see what they do with Eli Apple

I know he's young but he has burnt a lot of bridges last year

He was also coaching the linebackers when Colts moved from 4-3 to 3-4. The year Mathis had 19.5 sacks. Mathis raved about the guy. Chandler Jones too, actually.

Interesting hire anyway. He loves blitzing, which is well and good when Peterson is in your secondary. Hopefully ours can return to 2016 form.

I didn't realise that there was such talk of Jack Del Rio getting the job before they announced Bettcher.

I think I would rather the up and comer over the tried and tested in this case. But Del Rio always ran 4-3 which may have suited our personnel more.

Bit more personable than I was expecting, actually. He also seems fairly self secure up there, which is a nice change. I hope he can roll with the punches this time around and really use his Browns experience for the better.

Liked him saying, "the old handbook was say nothing and be guarded", and how he's learned how that has changed. He's hired and he has my support, so time for optimism and the silly offseason to kick off.
