Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Apparently their notoriously slow in dispatching stuff. So you could be waiting a while..

Got stuff before with no issue.

I was listening to the UYI albums earlier and I was sure I knew the words to all of the GNR songs but some of the UYI songs momentarily caught me on the lyrics. My question is, are there any lyrics for GNR songs that you think you know by heart but get caught out by.

Id Probably struggle to remember some of the verses to Breakdown and Locomotive as i dont listen to the Illusion albums much anymore.

Download festival continues on Sky Arts tonight be interesting to see what songs they choose to show of GnRs set, would be cool to hear a pro shot of Slither. Pity it wasnt a great night for Axls vocals though.. he sounds rough on the WTTJ snippet

Appetite back in the Billboard 200 Top 10, 29 years later due to the re-issue.
Guns N’ Roses’ classic 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction, returns to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart after more than 29 years. The former No. 1 re-enters the tally (dated July 14) at No. 10, following its deluxe remastered reissue on June 29.

been thinking about Slane recently.  Definitely the best gig I have ever been to.  Such a massive sound. I've never heard live guitar sound as good as Slash that night. Absolute joy. Need to see them again on this tour.

There's a thread for Slash ft. Myles & The Conspirators, to keep it separate from the GN'R thread.

Eh lad a lot of that interview was about the recent renuion tour unless you want me to only post the sections where Slash talks about GnR and nothing else

With the NITL tour ending in Nov (well rumoured too) will we get an in-depth Doc on the reunion and how it came about, evolving on tour etc. The tour is all about $$$ so it's prob in the pipeline

Well it's ending until sometime 2019 any ways, what with Slash doing his own thing, Axl presumably occupied with AC/DC..

As for getting anything from GN'R, to be honest you've more chances of winning the Lotto or Euromillions.

Someone in team Brazil probably saw a negative comment about them and pulled it. How the hell that crowd got into the head of axl rose and are living off guns n roses I'll never know. Also some people putting videos up on YouTube about GNR have had their videos removed and have alledgedly been treatened by someone claiming to be acting on GNR/ the housekeeper which if true is clearly not acceptable. Now in a normal band run properly there would be a statement saying they aren't but in this dog and pony show I've seen no such statement. Cowboys ted cowboys.

There's a whole thread on MYGNR about that. Honestly **** this band.

Yeah I had seen the videos being nuked and saw the talk on that forum but never made the connection for some reason. I listened to a podcast that had one of the guys who's family was treatened. That **** is not okay. But the band is pissed about people puttting stuff up on YouTube yet they could make a killing on releasing what ever they have in "the vault" that they won't release. The "management" and I'm using that term very loosely are minted yet could be even more wealthy. Although getting control of axl and the band must have been very easy. So Stephanie Seymour is the nwo of GNR without knowing it.

So will that GNR central guy on YouTube be affected by this ???

Are they actually going to release an offical recording of a show ???

He just does news and interviews with people who've had some kind of involvement with Guns over the years, what's going on has more to do with concert bootlegs being uploaded/fan channels being shut down on YouTube.

I'd normally go to the pub on a Friday night but I've a family engagement tomorrow so decided not to. I realise that's unnecessary context, but I decided to listen to the VR back catalogue for the first time in ages. Fall to pieces is such a good song. I mean imagine Axl instead of Scott singing on that song ? I'm glad Scott Weiland was the original singer on Slither though. A lot of the songs on Contraband are just good rock songs. Libertad(which I bought on the day it was released) seemed like a band that was too comfortable with each other. The songs reflect that in my opinion.

I saw that clip and it's poor when fans get excited over an appearance of the lead singer of a band you like in a cartoon simply because nothing else is happening music wise.

Ya those two songs are my favorite velvet revolver songs. I think Axl sang slither at the Slane concert or I watched it on YouTube. Prefer Scot singing it.

I think there’s a song loving the Alien on contraband, not bad either.

Axl was terrible singing Slither. The man's voice is gone.

Axl looked like a woman in that photo of him and Mickey Rourke.

They both looked like women, for seriously loaded guys, you'd think they'd invest in stylists..

I think it’s more to do with their faces and botched plastic surgery.

He sang better when he broke his foot, probably doesn't help when he's running about the stage either.

Limit Axl's stage movement = Better vocals :pac:

Nah that’s not aging, Mickey rourke absolutely ruined his good looks with plastic surgery. Axl face is so swollen from all the botox.

So Richard has been yapping about a new album AGAIN this time in to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Can judge his comments for yourselves.
Slash is on tour right now. Once he gets back from that, we’re gonna get some more recording done and hopefully get an album out soon. And then we’ll get back to touring.

And he said the following in December to a St. Louis radio station in December
We’re going to try and do another record and get it out soon. I think it will happen faster than you think. I sure hope it happens faster than you think

At this stage I'm convinced Richard is contractually obliged to comment about a GNR album a set number of times during a calendar year. Unless Axl says something about a future album then no disrespect to Richard fortus, but his word holds about as much weight as DJ Ashba's did(possibly a bit harsh on Richard there) when he was in GNR.

I know with Richard, a mine of salt has to be taken whenever he makes these kind of comments, but Slash himself has now spoken and well here's what he's said.
Axl, Duff, myself and Richard have all talked about... there's material and stuff going on already for a new record. It's just, with Guns N' Roses, you don't go, Oh, there is a plan, and it's gonna be like this, because that's not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we're hoping to put a new record out, and we'll just see what happens when it happens.

So now that Slash has spoken, I'd take what he says with a bit more weight..

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,990 ✭✭✭✭Lithium93_

So now Duff McKagan's weighed in on a new Guns N' Roses album. During an appearance on Eddie Trunk's show yesterday, he said the following.
I heard some new material and there's been some jams going around, and that's the next step for us, for the GN'R thing. Oh, it's real. But the fun part and the cool part about GUNS N' ROSES is we don't really talk about it, and what happens next just happens. It's never been that band that there's a direct schedule of how we do things. I've heard some magnificent stuff that Axl [Rose, vocals] has — really cool stuff he'd been working on. So I'm excited about the possibilities with that, of course. I don't mean to get anybody rabid. [A new GUNS N' ROSES album] will happen when it happens, that's for sure.

Guns N’ Roses Rumored To Reunite With Izzy Stradlin
    By Brett Buchanan - Apr 6, 2019

On the latest Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon, Lafon asked former Guns N’ Roses manager Alan Niven if Izzy Stradlin could reunite with Guns N’ Roses at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky later this year. Alternative Nation transcribed Lafon and Niven’s comments.

Lafon asked Niven if Izzy could show up.

Niven said, “Let’s keep this in the realm of pure whimsical speculation, and bare in mind that I hate Las Vegas and I’m not a gambling man.”

Lafon responded, “Speak slowly, because Alternative Nation is currently jotting down the notes. They’ve got their pen and pencil, so don’t go too fast, because we don’t want them to get it wrong.”

Niven added, “Let me repeat, this is purely me sitting with a cup of coffee and a smoke, and maybe my little vape to keep my good nerves in shape. I’m not a betting man as I just said, I’m not a fan of Las Vegas, I think gambling is the most ridiculous human occupation of all, but I would bet and I would gamble on this one. I would lay dollars to donuts that it’s going to be a genuine reunion, and they’re hoping to get Izzy onstage, not just for a soundcheck, but for a performance. I think it’s very much a, ‘Let’s see how it goes, let’s see if Izzy is comfortable, and we can prep up for next year.’ I would definitely put $5 on a winner, winner, winner, that Izzy is going to be there.”

Lafon mentioned the show is not far from Izzy’s hometown in Indiana.

Niven added that Louisville is close to home to Izzy, and could play a role in it.

“I would be amongst the unsurprised if it turned out to be a genuine reunion of some sort.”

Niven said to avoid ‘Velvet Roses Part 2’ Izzy should play the whole show, and Steven Adler should come on for the encore.

He also called Izzy the ‘heart of the soul’ of Guns N’ Roses. He said, “It was always Izzy’s band.”
