Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Straight on to my "Cheese" playlist on youtube....which reminds me I need to make an equivalent for Spotify (I'm so 'hip' an 'with it')

So it's almost that time of year again :D !!! This one's my favourite (I know the lyrics make no sense, but hey they rarely do). :)

Oh no, the Eurovision blues are upon us soon :p Some of them sound pretty solid though.

Listening to this savage tune on repeat o.O

Have to admit I wouldn't usually be a huge fan of Paramore (the only Paramore related song I ever liked was Hayley William's duet with B.O.B) but I have to say that that is a decent tune! :D

As for Eurovision blues  Pah... wash your virtual mouth out! Although, in fairness some of the songs are terrible - if you value your ears at all avoid the Romanian entry like the plague!

    Bah, you're missing out!

I do enjoy the contest. Bought a good few songs from last year because they kind of drill themselves into your head. But it gets depressing when you see Ireland barely making the double digits, while some clowns in leotards unicycling around fire could potentially win it! :D

Listening to Tame Impala's album – Lonerism – a good bit recently, and enjoying it.

Feck ya! I've had Paramore in my head all day! Thanks :D! As for the Eurovision if Ireland sent someone decent maybe they'd make the top half of the scoreboard, in fairness they haven't had anything that could compete with the standard set by Satellite in 2010 or Euphoria last year (both class tunes!), although Lipstick wasn't too bad! :) Anyways, that's probably enough Eurovision talk ;)

    Mission successful! Woop.

Yes, loved Satellite. Lena was a proper gem, albeit cam across a bit pyscho second time round. Jedward weren't too bad either but yeah, somethings take longer to forgive than others.

Find myself blaring this absolute tune out. I never thought I'd love the Welsh accent!

This is a very weird song for me to listen to. Normally, I hate this kind of music. But this song caught my attention when I was watching The Matrix Revolutions earlier. There's something hypnotic and luring about it. The whispered lyics, I think are doing it... Like the Matrix itself has Neo, this song has me. I'm sitting here at 3:45am and listening to it. Must have some hold on me... Enjoy!

(The song is played in the film as three characters enter an underground BDSM/goth/punk/various-subcultures nightclub run by the French-like Merovingian character, just FYI)

My itunes shuffle seems to think I'm in a Linkin Park mood tonight!

So I thought I'd revisit the awesomeness that is the 'Breaking the Habit' video! It's very Kill Bill meets the Aeon Flux anime, so how could be anything but awesome?

Can't get enough of Josh Ritters new album, heard "New Lover" on the radio and had to check the album out.

    Love this, and "Lights".

So, allow me to put this here...

Don't normally like the Kodaline side of music (their recorded stuff sounds too akin to the likes of Coldplay's newer material for my liking)...but this acoustic version is fairly awesome

And I recently came across Perfume Genius...

OK! Before the thread goes completely to hell...

Has that wonderful sexual innuendo in it. And what a guitar solo. Joe Perry = Legend of the 6-string.

I've noticed the Disney princesses get a bit of slagging on here from time to time. You have to admit thought that when they put there minds to it they can make a decent tune or 2.

That said the bulk of their stuff is crap.

Listening to a good bit of No Doubt and no one can deny when she went solo at first, she was on the ball. good sentiments here too. Apart from the fact I'm lazy as sin and not entirely sure what it is that I am waiting for...An absolute rocking tune, and the video is on Alice and Wonderland. What is there not to love about it?!! pacman.gif

On a major buzz today for Dokken. For anyone who doesn't know, they were/are a rock/metal band from L.A. that rose to prominence in the mid-80's and who had some absolutely cracking tunes. They never achieved the success they should have, in my opinion, as they were a damn sight better than a lot of bands at the time (and even in this time!). Here's some of their songs I've been listening to non-stop today! Enjoy!

    \m/ hell yeah!!! :D

Really looking forward to Laura Marling's new album, should be great as always judging by the lead track. :D

Elsewhere, despite every logical thought telling me otherwise, I'm strangely addicted to this.

Yep, they have some great non album stuff. My favourites would be this Fleetwood Mac cover with Gabrielle Aplin,

their mashup of "Pompeii" and "Sweet Nothing"

and this one "No Angels" which is just epic (it even has dialogue from "Psycho" - a class movie btw)

  • Registered Users Posts: 639 ✭✭✭Ash885

Sorry all, but the best Bastille cover Has to be (drum roll please)

They managed to best the master piece that was the original :P

I personally thought the locked out of heaven cover was GENIUS. Probably because I also like Bruno Mars' song.

I'm gonna complete the list of Bastille covers with this number with Lana Del Rey:

Also I've gotten recently into a bit of Reel Big Fish because of a college friend :D

Oh really?:D What about this unseasonable cover of O Holy Night with added dialogue from Home Alone. The end is genius.

As if their album wasn't amazing enough, now I have all these covers too. Bastille-bonkers!

Last night at around 1am, I realised that I had spent the previous 4 hours watching short films and listening to classic Eric Clapton.... I am meant to be 25 years old! All I am missing is a pipe and a pair of slippers and I could be my dad!
