Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fair enough...but Guinness sponsor loads of stuff and no-one says it's Diageo ;)

Two sleeps until marathon day! Loads of traffic cones have been laid out by the side of the route around the city already. Collected my race pack today. It's all getting very real!

    Well? How you all do?

And wasn't it amazing that the same guy won the last Derry marathon in 1981 !

    How fit is he!

Came in at 4:10 which I was delighted with. It was pretty grim in parts, but the support on the streets was amazing, especially at Fahan Street.

It was a great day for the city, great atmosphere on the streets and the race itself was very well organised. It would we brilliant if this was an annual event. Not sure if I'd be taking part next time though, I think my work is done there!

Well done! Did the leprechaun on the bike do the whole thing?

    So I wasn't hallucinating :)

Only saw him at the start, don't know after that.

He won it in '84 and '85 ;)

What an amazing day. The atmosphere and support were fantastic. Got round in 4.19 :D

4:19 here - after fighting off an ITBS knee injury that meant I couldn't train for the last 3 weeks. But delighted indeed to finish and run all the way. My first marathon.

Tough - and hillier than I thought - I don't live local and we don't have a lot of hills where I live.

Amazing and warm support indeed. Highlights include the flute band, the Little Irish Dancers, the rave music, the run down , the Salvation Army in uniform all clapping for us, the jelly beans and cups of water that the residents of that housing estate just off the Caw had set up (Waterfoot Park??) plus, as someone said, the absolutely amazing support going up Fahan Street. I was literally willed up through the walls!!!

It felt like being at a moment in history.

    Congrats to all the finishers!
