Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The mini 7s at the Leister/Munster game was very entertaining but there were one or two already showing symptoms of 'roid rage, at one point a scrum collapsed and one player quite literally performed a Fatality from Mortal combat on his opposite number, entertaining but wrong.

My 10 year old son had a soccer match this morn away from home. We got down to their pitch only to find it flooded and were given directions to their other pitch. Found it no problem only to be left waiting 30mns for the home team to arrive. Ref started to get impatient and rang the manager of the home side only to be told that the home team had got lost on their way to their pitch.

    Seen this over on AH:

    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Boards.ie&defid=3327029
An Irish internet message board that has more forums than topics, averaging about 2 topics per 5 forums. Being an Irish website, the main discussion is drinking, with 307 forums dedicated to this subject. Many drinking sessions are organised on a daily basis, making the general population of boards.ie drunk 46% of the time.
A typical boards.ie thread will consist of someone suggesting pints, 30 people are up for it, 12 argue about the venue, 17 people demanding a pissup be organised in their county, 2 people making it clear that they don't drink, and 82 people saying they won'd be able to make it as they're too hungover from last night's pissup.

What's this and how do I deal with it:confused:

Looks like a bluey white corrosion to me. Noticed when i washed down the bike the other day. Sea water cause it maybe, been a few times when it's gotten wet cycling the promenade here?

    2011-11-06161054.jpg

Hot water and washing up liquid, my usual cleaning regime didn't get rid of any of it and highlighted it more tbh. On most spokes ont he front, back less so, I'm guessing due to more grease from the chain getting on the spokes protecting it a bit better

What material are the spokes made from Cookie?
A metal polish like Autosol will clean up any such corrosion.

A Dog In Hat by Joe Parkin. Doesnt go over to the dark side, but just indtroduces some of the ambivalence toward drug taking in low level cycling in the Beneulx region during the 80's. A great read.

Amazing the difference little changes can make.
Raised my saddle by about 2cm, 2 weeks ago to account for the difference between the SPDs and SPD-SLs. No problems the first day, but it was a flat spin.

Did a lot of climbing last weekend (1,200m) and found myself shifting forward on the saddle while climbing to try and get comfortable. Had some lower back pain afterwards. Wrote it off as just a hard day in the saddle.

After the boards hill climb on Saturday, and a short spin yesterday with some good climbs, I'm f'n crippled today, my back feels like it might give way at any point. Time to pop the saddle back down and see how I get on next weekend.

2cm is a lot for a saddle - they normally suggest increments of 5mm or so, although clearly you do need to start by ajdusting for the level of pedal - is that really 2cm (bearing in mind the thickness of the sole also comes into the equation)?

Nah, it was a roadside bodge, just raised it and after an hour or so it felt comfortable so I stuck with it. Silly me.

FOUR whole months I've had a track frame in work with a seized Miche Primato BB that had the splines stripped on it and only today did I finally figure out how to remove it, the relief is unbelievable:D
