Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. So close for Wales (and me) :(:(

Down €40 since the start of the World Cup.

    I'm up 25, haven't lost a bet. Back the minnow! :p

Any fancies for Wales game lads?

Small bets on Spies to score a try @ 5/1 and JP Pietersen to score @ 9/4 for bit of interest in game.

Decent bet on Wales under 16.5 points @ 1.58/1 on betfair.

Try scorers at nothing, but was blessed that Hook missed that pen at the end. Wales deserved to win though. Warburton was top top class.

Today is a good day.. Here's to nobody beating the handicap!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Down 50% since yesterday. Double whammy in SA vs Wales - More than 19.5 in 1st half, SA to score more 12.5 points in the 1st half and then Live in the 2nd half had Wales to win at 10/3 - so near and yet so far. :(

Have now chucked the remains of my pot on one last roll of the dice - stay away from it :D - more than 20.5 in the 1st half in the Wasps vs Leicester game this afternoon.

    Going against the Handicap again:

    +17 France
    +31 Nambia
    +21 Georgia

    20 win 139

I'd add Tonga -6 to that

The quick turnaround will kill the smaller teams like Namibia, Samo's first game. I think they'll beat them by more then 31

Fair play, I'm just going for the "If it ain't broke don't fix it approach". Good luck

If I had your winners the past weekend I wouldn't either.

Just my honest opinion of the game. I expect the Somoans to start full strength, get their basic patterns going and shake off the cobwebs. Make a lot of changes in the second half when the game is safe. They might ease up and leak a few late scores and that would be my only real concern for them not covering.

The reason I like both of these bets is because you have reasoning behind them. And have posted the reasoning. Need more of these kind of outside tips imo!

Down a tenner so far. Exactly the amount I put on Japan to beat France at the 65 minute mark...

Gambling my 150 winnings from the Heineken Cup, so if I have 75 left at the end, that'd be very nice!

Tonga -6 looks good to me

    opinions on tonga -7
    georgia +17
    namibia +32 7/1...

looks a good bet to me. russia are underdogs against USA,Russian pack will surely be too strong for them?

Namibia will really struggle with two games in 4 days. Wouldn't touch them really.

I got in on Georgia a while back when it was Georgia +21.

I'm up around 20 so far betting on this WC long may it continue.

Tong-Canada is a tough one to call for me. I'm backing Canada +6.

Samoa have a real game 4 days later, so I'd question how much they'll put into the Namibia game.

That's not a bad Canadian side playing. Against a Tongan team that's made 11 changes they'll be more than a match. I've a small amount on Canadians at +7.

I've also backed Namibia very small at +33. Samoa should run a score up first half and look to ease off around the 50/60 mark as they'll have an eye on the Welsh game on Sat.

On Georgia +22 and Romania +22 also. Kicking myself as the latter was +25 at one stage.

Just went on to Paddy Power to check the top tryscorer odds and Alesana Tuilagi is 500/1!! With 4 places he's got to be e/w value. If Samoa do manage to get through he could easily score a few tries and grab a place.

Am I missing something (is he injured) or are they actually crazy odds?

he's gotten 3 tries in the match this morning so far ,had him at 12/1 :)

That 500/1 is looking mighty tasty right now! One or two more and he is surely good for at least the place money. 3 or 4 more and dare I say it.... he could actually do it for us!

Have gone on Georgia to score over 12.5 and Gorgodze as MOTM.

Doesn't really matter how much, one mans tenner is another mans 100. More the fact that the bets came in for him.

France to MURDER the HC vs Canada this weekend anyone?

    (-33)

    First quarter: France 21 - Canada 3
    Second Quarter: France 21 - Canada 17
Third Quarter: Jamie Cudmore proclaims that all the real French now live in Montreal
    Fourth quarter France 68 - Canada 17

All jokes aside France could litterally do anything against anyone.

Il be backing Russia straight win at 12/5 against US tomo, and Russia +8 at Evs. Both with PP. Think the US will be tired after the weekend, have made basically no changes and the Russians will be out to avenge the Churchill Cup game and will be fresh, I saw the CC game and it was a well matched cracker. US look to have improved but Im confident the Russians will have too, they have been in camp for quite a while I believe with former Glaws coach Kingsley Jones in charge.

Iv been waiting to back this one since the competition started.

Saw the CC game too, Russia look to be on an upward trajectory alright. Word of warning though the USA didn't have any of their big guns playing that day and still won.

You're spot on with the fatigue factor

What's everyone's thoughts on NZ vs Japan? AB lineup is pretty strong while Japan have named a second string team (10 changes from last week). If weather conditions are ok I can see the ABs putting up a score.

NZ -58 at 10/11 on PP. Thoughts?

The ONLY problem I see there is with conversions, kicking stats have been down all tournament. You would be assuming the AB can run in 10 tries and convert at least 50% of them kicks to beat that spread and that's if Japan don't score at all.

Although there could be MANY under the posts scores if they let rip on Japan so could be worthwhile. So far though its the tournament of the underdogs beating the spread.:D

my first though is use oddschecker.com
where you can get 10/11 in stan james -54pts 4 pts is a big difference for the same price.
The all blacks really are playing for places so there should be no let up even if they are winning well.
Missed the France Japan game so have not seen the japs in play have they a scrum?
Cannot see the all blacks letting in soft tries the pressure is kinda off after the build up of the first game.
They have loads of quality in the backs so id have a small bet -54pts cant see them scoring less than 65pts and cannot see japan hitting double figures

Anybody having a punt on the Russia vs USA game? The bookies and most pundits favour USA but having watched the Russia vs Italy A game in the Churchill Cup I can't help but feel that there could just be a slight chance of an upset. PP have Russia at 12/5 but like the Scottish match, it's probably one to avoid - should be a cracker though. :D
