Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there a link to a story behind these photos?

His name is Tyler Ziegel, injured in a suicide attack on his truck in Iraq. How it affecte their lives is a famous story here as the UK times covered it a few times at length.

There is a lot you can find online with his name.

There's a reason I suppose but still I doubt she would have(Or rather her parents would have let her) sign a bomb "with love" unless they actually suffered because of violence. Either that or she's just evil.

She's just a kid who most likely is not even thinking about where that bomb is really going. Before the age of 15 ish we are all just sponges and shouldn't really be blamed for what we absorb from around us.

I don't know can we argue that they changed the world. But the world has never been the same since the Simpsons started on the Tracey Ullman show.

Pete and URL are right. Israelis are brainwashed from a young age re: Palestinians, it's almost manufactured hatred. There is hatred going the opposite way too, but it is justified, can almost be condoned.

Thats a bit more acceptable than the Israeli one tbh because the first was a retaliation for a generally unprovoked attack on pearl harbour so they signed the bomb to vent so to speak.

The 2nd was probably very soon after 9/11, It was probably heading to afghanistan to be used against the taliban and al-qaeda who had just killed thousands of innocents so I guess their anger is well justified.

The 3rd definitley isn't WW2 buts it black and white so I have no idea about that, its not as nasty as signing a bomb "With love"
theres tons of terrorist attacks on isreal every year.
same thing really just no awwh inspiring attacks on the scale of 9/11

True, I hope one day she looks back and sees sense.

    @Mousey
I am aware, I am not anti-israel or anti-palestine. I know Israel is regularly terrorised by neighboring countries and they retaliate which is fine. Writing "May this be the last rising sun" is a bit war-like and threatening which is pretty normal for war. But writing "With Love" just seems nastier for some reason.

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted as yet - famous photo taken by Robert Capa. His name was Federico Borrell García and he was fighting on the Republican side against franco. The photo captures the moment of his death.

The Iranian Embassy Siege of 1980 was a siege of the Iranian embassy in London after it had been taken over by Iranian Arab separatists. The siege was ended when British special forces, the Special Air Service (SAS), stormed the building in Operation Nimrod. The incident brought the SAS to the world's attention as the whole episode was played out in front of the media.

Can he not sue the people making T-Shirts etc?

I'm looking for a picture that I saw on a LC English Mock Paper around 2001 of a flooded street somewhere in Asia (I think?). The picture shows just a hand above the surface of the flood water holding a pitcher of (presumably) water.

Does anyone recognise the description given? Would love to get my hands on it.

    Thanks.

Going by the link in the other post - he doesn't want any money from it.
Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick says he wants his iconic image of Che Guevara to become a money spinner. However, Fitzpatrick (above) says he doesn't want to profit from the image...
Along with signing over the copyright of his Che image to the William Soler Pediatric Cardiology Hospital in Havana, Fitzpatrick says he wants to gift the original artwork to the Che Guevara Lynch archive run by his widow, Aleida March.

To me this is what real and actual evil looks like.

Roy Whiting, paedo who murdered sarah payne pictured at his arrest and again after a few years in prison.

The difference between those two photos is incredible. The first he looks so respectable and the second one, he is barely more than rabid beast.

    Shocking isn't it.

The chilling photograph was found by investigators in a camera buried in the rubble after the Omagh Bombing, the picture was taken in the minutes before the bomb exploded, clearly showing the red car - with its deadly hidden cargo - beside dozens of oblivious civilians

    Azaria Chamberlain

    18333_1214143554455_260_431.jpg
Azaria Chantel Loren Chamberlain (born 11 June 1980 in Mount Isa, Queensland) was a nine-week-old Australian baby who disappeared on the night of 17 August 1980 on a camping trip to Ayers Rock (Uluru) with her family.
Her parents, Lindy and Michael Chamberlain, reported that she had been taken from their tent by a dingo. An initial inquest, highly critical of the police investigation, supported this assertion. The findings of the inquest were broadcast live on television — a first in Australia. Subsequently, after a further investigation and second inquest, Azaria's mother, Lindy Chamberlain, was tried for murder. Lindy was convicted of murder on 29 October 1982 and sentenced to life imprisonment. Azaria's father, Michael Chamberlain, was convicted as an accessory after the fact and given a suspended sentence.
The media focus for the trial was extraordinarily intense and sensational. The Chamberlains made several unsuccessful appeals, including the final High Court appeal. After all legal options had been exhausted, the chance discovery of a piece of Azaria's clothing in an area full of dingo lairs led to Lindy Chamberlain's release from prison, on "compassionate grounds." She was later exonerated of all charges. While the case is officially unsolved, the report of a dingo attack is generally accepted. Recent deadly dingo attacks in other areas of Australia have strengthened the case for the dingo theory.
