I'm not mad about Huey Morgans' voiceover on Blues America.

    It is too flat.

This Seasick Steve show is better than I expected. Think he played here a while ago (was it Marlay?).

Gonna keep an eye out for him.

Mostly Blues again this week. (If that's not your thing you might like the David Bowie night coming up on Friday week) I thought Blues America was very interesting, looking forward to the conclusion of that.

Also, the Glen Campbell programmes from last week are repeated on Saturday Night.

Couple of tracks below for those unaware of John Fahey.

A white boy from Washington, with a real love for old-time Delta Blues players like Charlie Patton & Mississippi John Hurt. His music's a fusion of everything from traditional folk ballads, blues, bluegrass, spirituals and eastern raga – but his stuff is utterly unlike any other fingerstyle player you're likely to hear - layered, complex, melodic & dissonant all at once.

Compelling stuff (for me anyhoo). :)

 that would be a high maintenance look.

There must have been some energy in the audience at those gigs.

Although it must have terrible when he retired Ziggy live on stage.

I never knew that! Can you imagine the lads hearing that?

As for the hairdo, she used to put sugar and water into it to spike it as far as I can remember. No fancy sprays then! :D

    Fantastic live performance.

I'd love to have seen Ziggy........The sound is brilliant..

This is a great thread. I would have missed this otherwise.

Just a great voice. Acoustic just perfect. You would almost think it was a recording..

Everything is so well done ... the design and charisma is iconic, but we wouldn't be watching this now if there weren't brilliant musicians performing great songs on the stage.

Substance and style working together terrifically.

It's a pity the camera stopped rolling and didn't follow into the dressing room. Can you imagine the lads after that bombshell dropped on them?.....

    I'd say there was mayhem!....

Ha, very true. I'd say most of the crowd didn't hear what he said either. Your ears would be ringing like crazy.

Imagine if you were there, and you were watching it tonight. It would bring back some amazing memories.

    Great concert.

    Brian Connolly.....The Sweet.....My first heart-throb........:)

This is like my dream CD on......

I remember when my teacher at school announced his death, everybody thought he meant Brian Conley, light entertainer/chicken-in-a-basket comedian!

Cue a lot of upset classmates - some girls even started crying! It was only when he mentioned The Sweet that the tumbleweed hit the floor. Except for the glam nerd like myself who knew who he was talking about :D

Anyhoo, looking forward to the Lou Reed documentary tomorrow night.
