Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This thread is just the same questions over and over again.

Can a mod edit the op and put in an FAQ or something?

Anyone having an issue with the hailo app ?

I downloaded the app and when it runs it kills the wifi for some reason, can only get "G" or "E" over data too.

Uninstalled the app and all fine again, must be a bug.

I noticed this issue particularly with viber quietly being thrown out of ram resulting in me missing calls and messages. Very very annoying...

That's a bit like buying a new telly and complaining about the shows... :pac:

Any suggestions of a clock and weather widget that would be similar to the one on sense 5?

    Hey all,

just got a Moto G2 (Dual sim) for the very purpose of having active dual sim capability and within a few hours I wrecked the Sim 2 slot by using an adaptor (ignoring all warnings!) :(

Now, I know it is wrecked as in I saw tiny bits of metal come out when I finally prised the adaptor and nanosim out of sim2 slot (nano sim also wrecked) plus I tried a microsim after and the sim2 reader is not recognised by the phone.

Is there any place that can replace the sim reader in Dublin or is it simply impossible to do this with this model?

    Thanks

Lads, the gf's moto g (gen1) is acting up. The vibrate feature doesn't work most of the time and as she has it on silent 95% of the time, she misses a lot of calls.

Is there any easy fix for this? Has anyone had similar issues??

I've found motorola support to be pretty awesome. They do online chat etc. Only released October 2013 so should be still under warranty

Dropped mine on gravel yesterday resulting in two large dents in the bezel. I don't think these would survive many drops.

Has anyone a suggestion for a case that doesn't add much bulk? Looking at this Ringke job for £5.99 right now - http://amzn.to/1r0Ge8n

I got one of these, not bulky, fits like a glove, no more slippy phone.

    Hey everyone

Just wondering if Meteor have stopped selling this phone, as both the Moto G and Moto E have disappeared from their website?

Some shops still have it but its not being restocked. I picked one up in Blanchardstown last Friday and they had a few left.
    3rd gen 16gb 5" with a quadcore processor rumoured for early 2015.

    Yep. Keeps the cost down.

Fiver in Tesco or £2 on Amazon, or use an old Samsung charger.

Anyone get the lollipop update on their moto g yet?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,126 ✭✭✭✭calex71

For those on the 5 inch model what is your average battery life? I;ve switched from a 1st gen one to the 5 inch and am getting around 2-3 days with the same usage pattern as the smaller one which I got 5 days from.

Few calls, checking emails on wifi which is always on , viber messages , not a huge amount, location/gps off, screen brightness down to low level. Just wondering is 2-3 days as good as it gets with the newer phone really.

Still waiting for it. I thought it would be pretty quick but nothing yet.

Lads, how do I get MMS working on a gen1 Moto G?
I think I need to get the settings. Chomp SMS keeps popping up saying "can't download MMS. Check your APN settings and then tap to retry".

I think Motorola have royally screwed up with their approach to the rollout of Lollipop. One of the virtues of the Moto family is having such a plain version of Android. The main reason I rooted my previous Huawei phone was to get rid of the Vodafone bloatware - I DON'T WANT VODAFONE MUSIC, WHY CAN'T I GET RID OF THIS CRAP? - and the apps the Moto G has preinstalled are either potentially useful (Assist) or absolutely brilliant (Migrate).

Given all that it was reasonable to expect a quick arrival of Lollipop, and that expectation was only enhanced when the intrawebs went into meltdown at the news that the Moto G was going to be the first to get Lollipop, even ahead of Google's Nexus products. Yet here we are, three weeks later and no sign of Lollipop. Now, I know Motorola only ever specifically said that a handful of devices in the States would receive the update. But they were happy to allow the headlines that they were First to be disseminated without ever bothering to correct the impression given that it was imminent for all Moto G users. People who are not customers of Motorola will remember who was quickest with the rollout when they decide on their next Android phone. Current customers will remember that they were more interested in some cheap publicity than actually doing it properly.

Hey, I'm still waiting for it on my Nexus 7. :pac:

Going by some of the reports over on the Android forum, I'm in two minds as to whether I'll upgrade immediately or wait for some of the reported bugs/annoyances to be sorted out. Am I right in assuming that once I install Lollipop there's no going back to KitKat without first rooting the phone?
