Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They were pretty good too, missed the start of their set though but enjoyed what I saw. Pity you weren't over for it, you would have had a great night.

Open bar, stayed up until 7am on Sunday morning, slept 10 hours last night and I'm still not quite back to the land of the living. An amazing day :D.

My best friend since we were 4 and 5 asked me and our other friend of 10 years to be her bridesmaids next Summer :D

Me and the other girl were having a pint when she asked us through the same WhatsApp group texting, knowing we were together. She sent us links to some dresses she'd like us to have. We agreed on one and sent back to her.
    BAM!
All sorted in under 3 sips :)

Fibbers was packed on Friday night as it was their 25th Anniversary. It's rarely that busy most Friday's though. Wasn't too many in the Gypsy Rose either. Any idea who the guest DJ's are for the after party? Last time one of the fellas from Anathema was DJing.

Evil Scarecrow were absolutely savage on Saturday night. So much fun. Anyone going to Download would be foolish to miss them.

It was an outstanding performance from the band. They sounded superb and a great atmosphere in the packed Academy.

Heard nothing but great things, glad it was a great gig ;)

Only a few weeks left before I'm headed stateside! :D

Stunning, stunning performance as usual from Anathema.

Great atmosphere at the gig, only gripe was hearing too many people talking which kinda ruined One Last Goodbye for me. Its such an emotional song it deserved more attention.

Darren White was in top form for the last set. It didnt feel like 3 hours, which is always a sign of a great gig.

Heads up. Posted in the gig forum. Corrosion of Conformity coming to the academy and limelight on June 14 / 15.

When was the last time they played Ireland?

Definitely saw them in the point with metallica in the mid 90s.

Anathema were awesome, the 3 rd set was just amazing!

The Button Factory in 2011 original date got cancelled on the day of the gig but was rescheduled for a month later.

Added citra hops to my brew, so it's gonna be a nice hoppy IPA, perfect for the summertime :)

Love me some Citra. I have an IPA that has just conditioned which has Citra in it. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it though. Not bad, just not what I hoped it would be.

I think I'll put on a Blond Ale soon and have something crisp, clean and session-able for the hot summer days.

In other news, I can see this new Boards layout being a right pain to navigate through.

James Spader is a fantastic actor :D, even in the trailers he made Ultron sound so evil.

Bottled my beer tonight as well.

It smelled very hoppy , though I'm a bit worried it'll be a bit overpowering.

Hopefully get something drinkable out of it :o

You two should go into business together. Rock & Metal Brewing Company. :pac:

I'm gonna check out that new GBB pub, The Beer Market in Christchurch at the weekend. Speaking of which, anybody attending Skyforger in The Pint on Friday?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,944 ✭✭✭✭Links234

    Haha :pac:

I think a business is a long way off, making beer from a kit is one thing, real browing is a whole different beast. Requiring science! If only I had some sort of science nerd to help out there. :P

Ha, I'm only a newb in the beer making department unfortunately, gimmie a few more years :) I went to college with Chris from GBB, should have just followed him instead of the whole PhD thing :pac:

My girlfriend is headed off on her travels Wednesday week. Booked my flights over to her the other day, my poor bank account :(

Yeah, I've been doing very little while saving up for this trip, and I think I'll seriously need to recover when I get back, then start saving again. I'll be broke for the entire year I think, but it'll be worth it :D

    Have a great time :)

Have somehow managed to end up horribly busy at the moment, two weekends in a row with guests staying over with us, at the Yes Equality table quiz this evening, Sonata Arctica on Friday, rugby on Saturday...

Ah, you're keeping it frugal and saving for your holliers in the US, arent ya? Perfectly understandable. ;) I'm looking forward to the gig and a few brews. Gonna check out the The Beer Market in Christchurch. I'll take it from there. :D

Pretty much, but damn is being frugal pinching me in the ass, so much stuff I wanna buy! New Payday 2 DLC is out, not buying it. :o

Let us know what the Beer Market is like, might be worth a look next time I'm Dubland bound ;)
