Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When I got into the car last night my phone charger was plugged out and left on the passenger seat. 99.9% sure I didn't do it and cant remember if I locked the car, have a bad feeling someone was snooping around in it? Maybe im just going mad.. wrecking my head though!

Liklehood is that it was you mate. Don't worry about it.

Even if it did happen, they came, they snooped, nothing taken.

Think of it as a reminder to lock up properly of an evening :)

    Emm anything Honda! :p

I know the Honda engines better than any other so would be able to give repairs a go myself. Really it will be a project car so I'd prefer to work away myself.

Haven't decided whether to just get a little 1.5 eg or something like that or stick with my original choice of a Dc2, seen a few lil civics about and 1 possible teg

My housemate has taken to leaving the door open on his way to work in the mornings this week. Feckin' dope.

Can't wait for tomorrow when I wake up to find some cat-smelling furry man standing at the end of my bed pervin' on my shoes or something.

I got a bluetooth ODB2 scanner \o/ Have it working with Torque (any nice dials/displays that are worth having?).

It has finally told me what that random CEL was that kept appearing any time I drove more than 20km at a time - P2096. That's my evening gone investigating that one!

I did! I got this one, the cheapest one I could find. Ordered at most 2 weeks ago. Only tried it out quickly but I can see dials moving so it must be reading something!

That code is "System too lean right bank". It could be a vacuum leak, bad coils or bad rear o2 sensor (the one in the catalytic converter).

When I got it, I replaced the rear o2 sensor, cancelled the error and the car was back to normal :)

Check the maintenance nipples covers. If they're in a bad state or loose, they will let air leak in.

I think you know what to do when it comes to checking the coils!

BTW, you say you have it working with torque? Must be awkward to only have it working while driving at 6500 RPM? :P

They are handy little yokes alright. I use mine for diags using ODBScope and on the track as a datalogger/laptimer with GPS using RaceChrono. (Both Symbian).

I have one from DealExtreme. Here.

It's a bit more handy than the one jenizzle because it's smaller. It's quite tight to slot it into the BMW's for example. Have mine over 3 years now, never had a problem.

I'm taxing my car tomorrow (16th), it's been out all month. At what stage of the month do they make you pay for that current month as arrears?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,477 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Not till next month at least.

Really? I thought I remembered some cut-off, like the 20th, or 3 weeks, but it's all very fuzzy in my head.
    Cheers.

Coming from the guy who said that he pays so much attention to tyres on a car that he'd walk away from one for sale if it had bad tyres!

And mis-matched HID's and angle eyes colours. Seems like he doesn't pay attention at all!

bad tyres, not mismatched ones. theyre conti sports are bridgestone ;)

my friend had the same set on his e90 and the 5000k go really well with the halogen bulbs. i actually had all led white bulbs in both rings on the OS headlight but after working for 5mins they decided to stop.i thought i would get away with it seeing as how the mAh usage of the leds was only a little bit below canbus' requirement but nope! ill have to solder on resistors. i put the halogens back in anyway and all was well. connected up the fog lights before attaching bumper again. said id try all the front lights. fog lights started flickering and then poof!!

went into car, the bid screen was flashing, all sorts of bulb warnings, boot unlocking by itself, car not starting, electric windows opening about an inch and stopping, a big F on the screen. looked up online and seemed that the ecu was shagged. (obviously ****ting myself at this stage) disconnected the battery for 10mins....reconnected it and same. that has always solved any problems ive had electrically before! really worried now, never seen anything like this. last throw of the dice, ill try the battery from my brothers astra that hasnt been started in 3months. connected it up....bingo!! everything working perfect! kicked my battery and threw it on charge.

I didn't misquote you at all, I just took your "attention to detail" about tyres and applied it to this situation. If you ask me, it works quite well :p
