really wish they would kill off the simpsons already, for the last 10 years they had 2 or 3 good episodes per season and the longer it goes on the older they make me fell as all of the memorable lines are from season 12 and before :(

In fairness, it;s bad if it makes me want miami back !!!!!!! At least that was tongue in cheek about being bad, NY took itself far too seriously and self righteously for far too long ..... had they actually the lowest cast turnover of the 3????

And then there was 1, las vegas, i think we'll see a new spin off sooner rather. than later

The tv networks in the us are having a huge drop in rating. I find hbo and AMC are the only newtorks that are making decent shows. I hate watching a show that could excellent being conservative just because of its network.

I still enjoy it and think you're being harsh. They have 2 or 3 great episodes (compared to the earlier seasons, when nearly all of them would be great) but the other 20 odd do still be good. Rarely is their a bad episode, just not as great as it used to be.

The rumour going around for the last few months is that the Simpsons will end with season 25, but then again they said the same thing at season 20 :pac:

As long as it's successful it isn't going anywhere.

Delighted the Neighbors is coming back, and I like the Middle as well, though good and all as it is, the kids are getting old now and you can kinda see it! Nashville is great so delighted that's coming back.

Sorry about Vegas. It could have been a good show if they got a second season and a chance to retool somewhat.

Monday Mornings is a huge shock. I figured that as a lock for renewal, not based on numbers but on quality. It was a short season but bar some blips and oddities, remained pretty strong and consistent all the way through, plus it was an interesting premise. That really is a pity. :(.

I can't help but feel like it's been a kind of wasted season though. A lot of the shows I found interesting have gone, the ones I can't really care too much about have, for the most part, stayed. Following and Beauty & The Beast, please stand up. It's almost back to as we were this time last year. Of course we have some great new shows like Neighbors and Nashville but we've lost a lot of worthy candidates along the way too.

Even though I knew it was coming I'm still disappointed about CSI:NY. I'll miss it. And even though it never really took off I'll miss Smash as well.

Good to see it's coming back but it's probably time to put it to bed as well. It's never really risen to the heights of Season 3 so far in Season 4 so if they can go out on a high with Season 5, then that's great.

Jordan is saying that he wishes to do a 2 hour movie to finish it off properly, whether he gets the chance though is anyone's guess

No movie....Showtime didnt want to spend the money, from what Jordan told Deadline there is a certain closure in the series finale on Sunday, but not a planned end and only for certain characters.

The Pope didnt get his rather epic end Jordan planned.

Showtime wouldn't spend the money on a 4th series, too expensive. The movie is something that Jordan wants to do in the near future, but again, no definites being given.
Have a feeling its going to go the same way as the promised Deadwood movie, I'm still waiting with baited breath.

Been a brutal 2 weeks for ABC Family watchers with the axing of both Bunheads and The Lying Game :(

I was in denial, hoping for the best...expecting the worst. I guess this 100% confirms The Fosters is getting renewed, jury is still out on Twisted as Ravenswood could very likely take its post PLL slot.

Chasing Life could be another companion show for Switched At Birth...as usual all the new ABCF reality shows are duds and getting the axe....but reality has ever hit on the channel as yet.

starz are up their owns ass, they had a relativity decent hit in Spartacus, and then expanded by making the exceptionally brilliant boss, but it never matched their expectations, magic city i called after the terrible season 1, i watched it through but it just wasn't good TV,

starz just dont have the pull to make over a million people watch their channel and they should either accept that or proactively look at ways to expand, their in the same boat as cinemax, who have strike back doing relativity ok like spartacus done, and are following it up with shows like Banshee and Hunted, which are struggling, despite being decent shows in their own right,

these channels will keep cancelling decent shows cause of low ratings and will keep reinvesting the money into new shows and cancelling them before they can gather any decent level of success,

The Starz model may be flawed but it makes sense for them to give an upcoming show a second season before even the first episode has aired. It shows that they are confident in the show which means that many viewers will give the show a shot as they aren't going to spend the duration of the first season waiting on a cancellation announcer. It also means that those on the fence who decide not to brother with a show that may be cancelled will be more likely to tune in. What they need to do is concentrate on shows that aren't quite as expensive to produce. Magic City looks gorgeous but it's rather dull at times and the expensive of a period drama means that unless its a smash hit it just isn't worthwhile for them to give it a third season. Starz need to partner up with Netflix and release episodes there as they air.

agree totally, cinemax are the same, they are being adventurous but they cant sustain that quality with their current resources and need help,

i think a lot of channels are gonna start moving away from the nielson ratings system with the impending rise of on-line content, and hopefully in the next 5-10 years most if not all TV shows will be renewed and cancelled based on quality and popularity, rather than how many people tuned into NBC on one night rather than FOX or CBS, like most monday nights in the US you could have 8 top shows competing against one another, 8 million people could watch a show and it still gets cancelled,

i think the next few years are gonna be very interesting on how we watch TV, hell it might actually be worthwhile getting a netflix account:)

That's a shame about Magic City. It's not marvellous but it's getting somewhere this season. The whole Cuban connection has spiced things up a bit. Much like Boss though, I'm kind of annoyed at having become invested in a show over 2 seasons only for it to end abruptly. It may get to the stage very soon that I just give up watching Starz shows until they reach Season 3, and at the rate things are going with Starz shows, it might likely mean I never watch Starz shows again!
