Scan in naas too? My booking in is local clinic with midwives and scan three days later in Coombe. I was talking to the lady in the coombe and told her I wanted the domino scheme and she told me my dates and locations before she even sent the letters confirming them. Maybe give them a ring.

No nausea today,it's so eerie, lol I'm giving out when I feel ill and now I am worried I don't!!

How long are you ladies waiting on appointments? I'll be in Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.

  • Registered Users Posts: 70 ✭✭witchity2

I rang into the office in Holles street too to find out how soon i would be getting my appointment and was given the date and time there an then. I dont think they usually have a problem telling you before hand - at least it gives you the opportunity to get a day that might suit you more than another

I'm due January 4th. Had an early scan on Tuesday and all was as it should be thankfully. I'm going public in the Rotunda and got my booking appointment for July 4th, I'll be nearly 14 weeks then, please God. Doing combined care with GP so all in all I'm happy with that. Haven't any morning sickness....so far! Boobs have gone up 3 cup sizes (!!!) and are woefully painful. I was big to start with so I'm hoping they will stop growing now or else I'll need a trolley to bring them around!! Tired, bordering on exhaustion some days and eating all around me. I wouldn't change a thing though, so happy to be pregnant!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

I feel really really bloated . no matter what I eat . I actually look about 6 months gone!

  • Registered Users Posts: 33 Roustabout

Oh Bobskii, I hear ya! I don't know how I'm going to hide it for the next few weeks. I'll be living in tracksuit bottoms!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

Lol!I've told most people because we had ivf but I didn't think I'd be showing . I know it's bloat but there's not alot I can do about it . It's very uncomfortable!and I'm not going to complain because I've wanted this for so long!!

I'm seven and a half weeks now (due Jan 4th)- starting to forget I'm even pregnant! Is anyone else like this? Its weird- 2 weeks ago I was continually exhausted and going to bed really early.. I was also slightly nauseated by things throughout the day.. but nothing serious.. I was also really bloated and uncomfortable and my breasts were really painful.. Now I have no symptoms except that I'm a few lbs heavier than I like- but thats because I haven't been watching my food really at all. I feel like buying another test just to convince myself!! (I did 4 tests a month ago!!) I know I shouldn't be complaining but its strange! My boobs are still a bit tender to be fair but not as bad as they were..

How's everyone doing? With the sudden lack of symptoms I have truely convinced myself I have had a missed miscarriage, so have booked in for an early ultrasound next week. Going to prepare myself for the worst but hope for the best.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

Lashes28 I don't have any symptoms at the min either . I've gone from being nauseated and tired back to my normal self . Only thing I do notice is my sense of smell is strong and for some odd reason I get short of breath easy . have an early scan if you are worried it will be worth it to put your mind at ease.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Yeah I am going to get checked out,I've had miscarriages before and I think that's what making me feel so uneasy, its in the back of my mind constantly and here I am awake at all hours thinking about what ifs!! I know symptoms do ease but I thought that was about12 weeks?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

Mine have eased off and ill be 9 weeks this week . hopefully the scan will put your mind at ease . I know it did for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,919 ✭✭✭ziggy23

Hi guys hope it's ok to join:D

I've just found out I'm pregnant it's a big shock to myself and my partner I was given an edd of 23rd January but I'm not sure if this is correct as I can't remember the exact date of my last period. I already have a little boy of 4:)

Is anybody else having some light spotting? Was over with my doctor earlier and she said not to worry unless it got heavier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭Leinster1980

Just booked in to Holles Street yesterday, this is our first. The dates have me with a due date of the 19th of january. Had a miscarraige back in February so feeling a bit uneasy but we're a bit further along then the last time so taking the positives! Trying to decide about the domino scheme, it sounds great but as this is my first I don't know how I will feel about pain medication. The midwife in February said that it's not really for people that might take the epidural?

Wow twins such amazing news for you and your other half. Have my own scan tomorrow morning I'll be 10 weeks 1 day, fingers crossed everything is ok this time

Thanks Millie14, I really hope so, just can't stop worrying when it's happened before

I know, I think everyone in early pregnancy has those worries. it was at my six week scan the last time that we got bad news, you have to try and put it out of your mind although its easier said than done

Got my first appointment today for 23rd June it just feels so far away, got info about MLU in it too,I really hope I'm eligible,it's such a fantastic facility, my scans booked in for Wednesday just to make sure all is ok. Nausea seems to be coming and going again and by god is my tummy bloated. Everybody around me is announcing their pregnancy news super early and I'm finding it so hard to keep quiet about it. I just want to make sure everything is fine before I tell the world.

    Hows every one else feeling?

Congrats on twin news,is it just me or is there a twin boom lately? Three people I know are expecting twins !!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,919 ✭✭✭ziggy23

Hi Millie - congrats! Wowsers twins. How do you mean that explains the symptoms? I've had extremely strong symptoms from very early on, only for I'm sure about my dates I'd say I was further along than 6 weeks. Is this a sign of twins? I'm really sick, constipated, SO bloated, dizzy, boobs have swollen already and killing me, etc since 4 weeks and some of the symptoms at 3 weeks!

  • Registered Users Posts: 82 ✭✭millie14

    Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all the kind wishes,

Nicman my symptoms started a few days after I ovulated, I was vomiting in the morning and had very swollen boobs. They just got stronger and stronger as the weeks went on. You can see my tummy now sticking out of my top its mad. Apparently symptoms are stronger with twins as you have twice the hormone level.....maybe it is twins !

Guys just posting to say unfortunately I had a miscarriage on Friday evening :-( somehow I knew from the start there was something up as I've been bleeding a lot . It's very sad but just wasn't meant to be. I wish you all the best of luck in your pregnancies and with your new arrivals in January xxxx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Ah Ziggy I am very sorry for your loss, I have been in your position far too many times and the pain can be very overwhelming,do you work? I hope you can take time to yourself and regroup, thinking of you xx

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

sorry to hear your sad news, it's very sad,
    take care x

Ziggy, so sorry to hear that. Mind yourself x

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Any tips for nausea? It's getting so overwhelming I wish I could just vomit to ease the feeling. Also the tiredness I have never experienced anything like it, any time im not at work I'm either in bed or on the couch, come on week 12 so I can start feeling somewhat human again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 926 ✭✭✭fall

Lashes I don't have any tips but loads of empathy. I have been so nauseous for nearly four weeks now with virtually no let up. I am praying it eases at twelve weeks too. I have it all day and often wake during the night the nausea is so bad. Sometimes I get sick and get a brief relief. It's tough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Very tough fall, I have completely gone off meat too and just the thoughts of it makes me gag,I hear ya about nighttime too, bedtime is when I feel the worst. i think it could be the food from the day lying in my stomach.
I also have so much 'gushing' and gurgling in the bottom of my tummy from time to time. I'd love to have a window and watch whatever is going on it there.
Any word on peoples first appointments? It's been so long since my first that i feel so new to it all over again, first in 2005 and second in 2015,makes me sound old!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 926 ✭✭✭fall

My first was 07 so I too feel like a newbie. A week from tomorrow for my first appointment on Domino scheme, then scan on the Thursday. Nervous and excited. When is your appointment?

First in 1996,second 2015, beat that girls!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Haha bobskii that I cannot, I was the ripe age of 10 in 1996 lol

My first appointment is 23rd,I am assuming they will do my first scan then too? is the domino scheme like mlu? I am so hoping I get into mlu, however my first passed meconium (sp?) So I'm not sure if that could go against me as they need straight forward births. My cousin was in mlu and it was just fantastic, the facilities are top notch and the fact that your birthing partner can stay over for the first night is so amazing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

I have 9 years on ya so!I can't go to the mlu as I had a section on my first and I've been through ivf this time so it's called a precious pregnancy and needs a doc to he present . pity cos I'm hopin I can have a natural birth this time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 926 ✭✭✭fall

You win hands down Bobskii! I was in college. Is mlu midwife led if so that's the same as domino. I was semi private first time round but the holistic care associated with the domino seems to be right up my street.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Yep midwifery led unit, so very much the same thing. I was too far gone the last time I went for my first visit so fingers crossed.

How have you all gotten on with telling people? Myself and oh have not been in a great place lately, hopefully we can work things out. I have only told my mam and it's great to have someone to confide in. Tough work this pregnancy jazz!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

That's where I should have been!I have my first appointment 2nd of July nit long to go now can't wait.

I keep looking at it on the calender and getting a little burst of excitement!! Is the waiting times still crazy do you know in hospital

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,495 ✭✭✭bobskii

I've no idea, but when I was attending the rotunda I used to go through the place where everyone had there appointments and the que 's of women were unbelievable!

  • Registered Users Posts: 926 ✭✭✭fall

Hope things work out for you lashes. All of my appointments are in the local clinic, only have to go to the hospital for scans. I have told a lot of people. Just too sick to hide it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,787 ✭✭✭Lashes28

Thanks Fall, I do hope things work out,but deep down I know I can't stick with someone who I quote 'is not ready for kids' after 10 years together, 1 child ,umpteen miscarriages and one on the way!! I feel really bad as there is so many couples out there trying their hardest to have children and here we are fluffing things up. Whatever will be will be, /rant ;)

Oh lucky you only heading for scans to hospital, I remember last time waiting for hours on end for appointments, but that was before smart phones so hopefully internet will make it easier.

    Has anyone had any cravings?

  • Registered Users Posts: 926 ✭✭✭fall

It's hard enough dealing with that stuff when you're not pregnant, throw the hormones and sickness into the mix and it can be very upsetting and lonely. Hope you have other support.
No cravings as such, I just feel like like I constantly want to eat. Hoping the next mouthful will ease the nausea.
