Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Alexei Volkov, who works in the city of Zelenograd, has become an internet celebrity after posting video footage of his smashes with rude and careless drivers.

Mr Volkov, by his own admission, has already has had more than one hundred traffic accidents.

Amazingly, he has kept his job despite the number of smashes and his unapologetic attitude and his unorthodox approach attracts a lot of sympathy.

Mr Volkov seems to just plain smash into people that cut him off. In a lot of that footage you can hear him still accelerating into the smash.

One sympathises to a certain degree and you can see the attitude of every one of those ass-hats is "Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" and they will go to their deatbead thinking they where right. It's just one of the hallmarks of a wanker in traffic.
And I was often tempted to just accelerate into some cnut that pulled out in front of me, T-bone them and take them for every penny I could.
But in real life, that just looks like too much hassle. I think partial blame should fall to a driver that has a chance to avoid a collision, but because he's "In The Right" decides to ram the other guy instead of avoiding the accident when he/she could.
And some of the stuff that guy does is downright assault with a deadly weapon.
I always believed that being in the right does not give you the right to ram the other guy just to prove a point. However much we'd love to do it.

Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I can't see him accelerating.
It's the other vehicles which seem to slam on the brakes in front of him.

He definitely speeds up in a few of them.

the other cars cut him off and slow down but instead of matching the speed of the car in front of him he just keeps driving until he hits them, AFAIK In a country like Russia life is a rat race, if you see an opportunity you take it(attitude comes from a time when people had very little) usually others just accept this behavior as they would be guilty of the same at some point in their lives, but I think Mr Volkov docent hold these views. Point is these "accidents" could have been avoided.

Not quite as quick as Kalle Rovanpera though ;);):D
He has some fairly handy teachers though in his dad Harri and Juha Kankkunen. I really do think he will be very quick by the time he will be competing on full international rallies.

    When he was 8

He is 11 now and is getting even faster

    No harm, no foul.

Unlike that time a Russian pilot let his son fly the plane.... and it ended up in the side of a mountain.

How did he think that truck would survive that????? He looks very very pale and sick lying on the ground, I wonder was it back trauma or airbag headache.

Amazing display of overconfidence in the car. Thanks for the post Chriscl1.

(I have to say this again) How did he think that truck would survive that?????

Chris and Mike Musto are the best presenters on Drive, the rest of the presenters can be a bit grating.

The only one I really don't like is Matt Farah, he's completely up himself and really rude to commenters.
I do like Tuned though, especially when it's proper home grown stuff, the show has really started turning into an advertising section for small race builders, not so interesting.
The lad that does the racing news I don't really know anything about because I don't watch his show.

    They are amateurs.
It was not professional rally, but the kind of that anyone with driving licence and road-legal car can participate.

Special stage was only 1 mile long, so no need for any extensive pace-notes.
I think some competitors didn't even have co-driver with them.

There was one round reconnaisance, and 2 rounds with measuered time.
I suppose many of them have fallen there during reconnaisance.

People driving the car deserve a smack in the face. Fúck that. Absolute idiots. Wrong side of the road, round a bend, in a place the looks like it'd be known for quick driving.

    It gets viral:

On Reddit The driver defended himself.

Unfortunately his comments seem to be long gone. The responses aren't.

I see what you mean, I have only ever seen the 2.5 1JZs TT Auto versions in Ireland, didn't even know they came with a 5 speed manual.

Ah well, something to think about importing once I get bored of smaller cars. :)

wow this gets really serious as it goes on, Toll booth crashes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭Marty McFly

A lot of really strange crashes there, its ll down to coming in to fast and not braking. Are they not aware of toll booths on the road on blind corners, no warnings or something. Hard to believe that many people would just plain miss judge a toll booth and there braking to that extent.

Cruise control not knocked off on time would be my guess with a lot of those truck crashes. Scary stuff
