Standard is ridiculously high in this league, the 3 that go in this year have got to be favourites for immediate promotion to League 1 next year

599 can't be the average surely?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,472 ✭✭✭AdMMM

League Standard is the average of the Top 5 teams in the league, not the entire league. That's how FPL calculate their top leagues too.

Should be noted that this only includes the first 50 teams in the league (the first page). So we're not THAT good overall, but still pretty awesome!

Maybe League Standard means something else? I'm in 4th place with 596 pts so definitely above average

    Just for you...

    Qualifying League (All 58 teams)
    League average for GW: 59.34
    League average for Overall: 523.43

When you consider the GW average for the Top 10k was 62.8

    327312.png
Just a little chart to see how the average (plotted in red) is affected as we include more and more teams.

All the more interesting when you consider I'm a Premier League competitor (who isn't currently in the relegation zone............for now) 19 points off the league average.

Can you be in the Qualifying League as well as FSA League 2?

Starting to fear for my league status.

I'm just glad that I've finally passed out your place holder team! I was behind it for quite a while!

Hahaha it does appear that way, however I've even less points than it so it could be worse.

My placeholder team was based on a season team logic with only players who had joined new clubs allowed, alot of players have hit the ground running at their new clubs (Costa, Sanchez, Di Maria, Sigurdsson) so that is part of the reason for it doing so well.

Not sure if this has been covered previously in the thread, but I note that there is currently a tie for 3rd. Obviously it's pretty unlikely that it will be a tie come the end of the season but there are a lot of good manager in this league, so it's not beyond the bounds of possibilities. So to avoid any potential arguments, would it be worth coming up with a way of deciding a tie now?

Random suggestion: most 100+ point weeks in the year. If neither team has any, most 90+ weeks. And so on.

Well, the official rules say its least transfers made, so that will be the number 1 tiebreaker, but your point is a good one all the same, on the off chance that even that can't tiebreak 2 people, and the criteria that will be used in that unlikely scenario, is highest scoring GW, where that is a tie, it'll be 2nd highest, 3rd highest, and so on and so on.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

Don't really care what the decider is, was just throwing out a suggestion - the least transfers is a good one too.

This is just a graph to show how the Average changes as include more and more teams. Obviously it's only going to be a downward curve, but I thought I'd also illustrate how some zombie teams can affect it.

I'm the four points that's behind you , its shocking tight

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,747 ✭✭✭Ziegler1988

I was checking the damage my 74 points did to leagues and this one was by far the worst. Next four behind me scored 92, 93, 85, and Cypher Sounds' incredible 116! I've still got a 70 point cushion in the promotion zone though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

I'm into 6th place now. Fair play to you, 1,132 is an amazing score.

Even with your 74 you are flying it, fair play and hope you keep it up.
