Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cinemagram is the most exciting app I've seen in a while. It's a photo app that lets you create a picture with an animated feature. It's difficult to describe but the examples here say it all :http://cinemagr.am/featured

It's 1.50ish but it's hours of fun and you create something really unique in a minute.

Still loving this app.Its genuinely hours of fun. There's now a free alternative that does the same, its called Kinotopic. It's great too.
You can have a look here at what you can expect to be creating with either of them :http://cinemagram.tumblr.com/

Can anyone advise me of the best app for Thermal Imaging on an I Phone?

I need it for work and while there is a lot of Apps there there is no reviews of them to verify if there any good!
You do know that they are only entertainment purpose apps and will not give you a real thermal image?
A proper thermal imaging camera would set you back a 5 figure sum.

That's what I thought but someone tried telling me that the the I Phone one will work, hence why I came here first! I work for a window company and the manager wants to show before and after effects of when windows are installed.

The iPhone just wouldn't have the hardware for that.
There's a load of bullshìt apps that are blatantly breaching advertisement regulations, for example there's one that claims to enable you to use your phone as a laser pointer..........it turns your screen red.....nothing else :)
How they get passed by apple I just don't know.

As far as I know there are companies that will come out and do the thermal imaging for you,I doubt they're cheap but they're a lot cheaper than buying a camera capable of thermal imaging.

    Give drugwars a go ...

You buy and sell drugs in different cities trying to make as much money as possible.

I used to play this 15-16years ago in college , it was very basic then. Still kinda is but i enjoy playing it

Thank you both for the replies.

I have tried all stations! I keep getting "Data format error" on tunein no matter how many times I try and I've deleted and reinstalled twice. Wunder Radio just seems to remain stuck on "Loading" and wont actually play any radio. This is a bit of a disaster for me as I love my radio apps.:/ Any suffestions of what might help?

Can you check if it works in a friends wifi, better if not suing the ISP as you I'm saying that as it could be an issue with your ISP, can you access the website
http://tunein.com/ in my case using UPC works ok in the Tallaght area.

I find tune in radio can stop working on and off with out warning( not due to wifi) then it seems to be ok.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,958 ✭✭✭_Whimsical_

Thank you for the responses! I figured out what was wrong. When I tried going to tunein.com as suggested by Nava I was blocked doing so by UnblockUS.com. I had forgotten I had been using their service on a weeks free trial and had changed my DNS. When I changed my dns back to normal tunein worked again. Thanks for the suggestion Nava. :)
Much relieved, I am lost without my radio fix everyday! :)

I've only started using TuneIn recently and find it a vast improvement over WunderRadio.

Pause/restart actually works, and streams always restart after a call.
And I also love the podcast options. Can't believe I suffered through WR for years...

Though I've a good feeling in bones about an FM radio for the next iPhone... :pac:

is there a good alternative to eirtext pro - preferably free!? i've given up on eirtext - it keeps sending my messages 5/6 times a go, much to the annoyance of the receivers! So having ran out of my free texts this month am looking for an immediate replacement

I haven't used it myself tbh, I use eirtext pro and have never had a problem with it, just mentioned jelly sms cause I know a lot of people use it and recommend it

I've never had any problems with it, and the latest update seems great! Although, I'm with Three, so only send texts to Irish numbers, but I wouldn't imagine sending them to foreign numbers would make any difference once the carrier supports it.

I'd recommend it. Never had a problem once, and use it about 200 times a month.

Is something wrong with 4oD. It's very slow for me. It's been like this for the past 2 weeks.

I'm thinking it's my ISP Vodafone censoring my Internet because of sopa but brother says I'm just paranoid.

Any idea what's going on ?

Any apps whereby you can block certain numbers or just have them diverted straight to voicemail?

I was looking for one of these yesterday, the only thing i could find was either a silent ring tone, just set it to that contact, or else ring up your network and ask them to block the number.

basically it streams live from your phone camera to a page on the interweb :)

and it does it perfectly..no lag...i was very impressed...and its a free app.

Looks handy. Say if Im at a match, and a mate in usa wants to see it, I can just leave the phone with video running on a wall beside me. Will the phone or screen go to sleep and then he sees nothing his end?

Also if he cant watch it as its actually happpening, can he watch it later? I'd imagine not as you're talking about storage then but you might let me know please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,601 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

Would Skype or FaceTime not achieve the exact same thing for p2p situation.

I don't see the point of the above app unless it was streaming to a few sources

Yeah, as long as live streaming it uploads it to your username and can be viewed later.

Hi. Just moving from HTC to iPhone. On my HTC, I had a lot of documents (maybe 200) filed in different folders. I used Documents To Go to edit the (word and excel) documents and Astro to view the folders.
From looking at the App Store I can get Documents To Go for €7.99. However I can't see Astro. Is there an alternative that I can use to view folders and files within them. Is there a cheaper alternative to Documents To Go (I would need to create and edit text documents though)

the uber lock down nature of ios by apple, means there are no real file managers for iphone, if you root it/jailbreak it, you can install ifile from cydia, its better then astro on android :-)

Thanks Stuxnet, I was afraid that you might say that :( I am a bit reluctant to jailbreak as it is a work phone.

If I drop the number of text files and just hold maybe 20 key ones, what is the best method. I would like the ability to create and modify these (DVDs to rent, books to read etc) and then upload the latest file to my laptop. Would I need to pay Documents To Go or does anybody know if there is a cheaper and better alternative

I wonder would a combination of Dropbox and an Office app be your best bet?

Interested to hear from people who use the Office apps, as it's becoming apparent I probably need to have one on my iPhone for those rare occasions I need to play around with documents on the move.
