from Thursday 18th, do you know?

  • Registered Users Posts: 64,467 ✭✭✭✭unkel

No it's the current offer. Valid until Wednesday 17th, close of business

Cherries are great value for money, I bought a few packs last weekend :)

I've frozen the cherries whole. Anyone know if they'll thaw out ok ?? They were frozen individually and then bagged.

  • Registered Users Posts: 64,467 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Never frozen cherries, but I pick and freeze blackberries. They last forever and go straight into the blender (frozen) for smoothies. I suppose that wouldn't be a good idea with cherries :D

Nothing wrong with freezing cherries. When they thawed out not worse than any frozen fruit ie. strawberries.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,172 ✭✭✭cosmic

Just heading out now to stock up on the current deals before the new ones come in tomorrow :D

Yes but strawberries will turn to mush on defrosting if they aren't frozen individually, was wondering if Cherries will be ok?

Do Aldi ever advertise the offers in advance? Can't decide to go shopping today or tomorrow.

As nice as the cherries are, I'm all cherried out!

I bought seven packs of cherries today!!! Little tip I picked up from superscrimpers, and it works. Wash the fruit when you get home in the carton. Then after a few seconds put a strip of kitchen roll over it to stop air getting in then put them in the fridge. They hold much much better

How does it stop air getting in there is airholes in the carton - top and bottom?

Well it stops most of the air getting to it compared to what usually would. It works, trust me :D

I bought a few punnets of cherries and they went mouldy in two days. The birds enjoyed them :)

Of course Dunnes will match it. Their intern buyers are frantically looking for suppliers of these products right now

It's good to see Aldi are the leaders, the other, Irish-owned, supermarkets then follow, eventually.
