There seems to be a serious amount of men in here these times, for a Ladies lounge.

Is this metrosexuality gone mad, or merely an anonymous place where the lads can get in touch with their feminine side away from the glares and sniggers of their mates??

Or is this simply a coup??

Personally I like ladies, chatting to them, seeing what they are thinking, and occasionally what they look like.

I don't doubt that there's always been plenty of luking on the gentlemen's part in the past; but the increase in participation by the liathroidí brigade over the past few months really is quite astounding!!

Generally anything to do with women will attract a good sized crowd of hopeful males. If those female only gym's let them in there would be more guys then girls; obviously if it's a girls gym, they would think, there must be girls!

true back in the old days when i was young :P running gigs all we used to worry about is getting women interested in attending get the ladies in and the men will follow hence the proliferation of ladies nights

Trolling, pure and simple. You'll find the same men who post in tLL also posting in the non drinkers club, fashion & appearance, fitness, religion, politics etc, and NEVER with anything constructive or related to the topic at hand.

I'd post in here a bit on some topics because you usually get reasoned debate, unlike say AH where whenever the same topics come up you get responses like "Yore Ma" ffs it was funny when I said it as a kid, people just try to say it in every thread now and it's a bit annoying!

The whole purpose of having separate fora is so that if you want to discuss something or have an urgent query on a topic e.g. philosophy, poker, zombie survival etc then there is a place where the post is valid.

AH is just for stupid threads where people make yore ma jokes. If you want reasoned debate about, for example, mustard, you should post in the mustard forum, not tLL or AH. But if you want to find out if women enjoy mustard as much as men, then tLL is the perfect place to find out.

but the real question is has it ever really been just a "ladies" lounge or is it just a forum with a higher % of women then the rest of boards.

Truthfully I don't think it is anything to do with the men being metrosexual more the fact that some will come in as they actually get to talk in a more normal enviroment as the population consists of a more well balanced proportion of men to women. Others of course will probably just come in as they may get the chance to flirt with women and maybe God forbid actually score a woman:eek:

However, I am seeing an increase in 'teh feminazis are out to get us' feeling, nothing I could solidly put my finger on - just a feeling from reading certain threads. I would consider myself a feminist, and find the anti-feminist sentiments unpleasant.

Tbh, i like the balance the forum has hit. It's nice to get a guys opinioon on some of the threads, but i do think that at times threads are posted here from a woman perspective and everyone jumps in and starts off with well women do it too and it doesn't just happen to women. Yes that may well be very very ... very true but... its a forum directed at women so of course you will get posters talking about how things effect them.. ie abuse, not pointing at any thread in particular.

And a lot of the time i don't think there are enough proper issues threads here either. My OH did this and how much do you loive you oh etc. I would love to see more serious issues which affect women being talked about. But then you get the above happening and it just turns into a ball of crap. Yes i know im rambling but i hope you get my point.

Seriously, I agree though that men should stay out of some threads. Here's some advice: if you want a female-only thread put the subject as perfume or shopping and then the contents of the thread would be whatever you do want to talk about.:P

Also I don't think this is the place for "Does this girl like me" or "Do girls like guys with red hair" or whatever. While I like getting a girls opinion, I doubt that was the original point of the forum and it makes me cringe when guys do this. Its not the "ask for a girls opinion on anything, lads" forum. That stuff should be left to PI/AH (depending on seriousness) or create a seperate relationships forum.

I'd just like to point out that i've had a sig link to tLL since I was made a mod here. Doubt it's done much to increase traffic though.
