Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just a couple that I like from my current book.
“Faith, “ Bick said “gives a thing power .Belief is one of the most powerful assets mankind possesses. It’s a damn shame so few folks take advantage of it. Of course the world is set up to make it hard to believe, really believe – that’s part of the elegant trap of it.”

This is a world made for mortals. It has rules , restrictions upon the divine and spiritual. Creation is a beautiful tapestry , a gift and a guide from the ineffable to the mortal ,but in the end it is man’s world and men alone must decide their faith and the worlds. They decide it through their behaviour , their choices ,their deeds and their discipline.

Reminded me on a sequence in the film "Into the Storm" where FDR says to Churchill "belief is power, doubt cramps energy ...".

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.”

Henry David Thoreau; Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
