Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Debating to stay up for tonight.

Think the pack need this one more. If we lose at home to one of the nfc contenders it does serious damage to confidence.

Never good to lose at home, though a loss for us tonight and it's three on the spin (including SB49). Starts to drain confidence.
Neither teams were good last week though GB got the all important W.

I've a bad feeling about this one.our rush d was a calamity against the Bears...and they were poor again tonight.

On the other hand we were great in the decider last year......for 55 mins anyway

Haven't seen the game (recorded for later) but know the result.
Well done Packers. The only consolation is we came back from 3-3 last year -- we
now have two home games so hopefully will get some momentum. Leaking a lot of
points though. The Chancellor situation needs to be sorted quickly too. It has
echoes of the Harvin garrago destabilising the team last year.

When the fixtures were released a 0-2 start was always a possibility.

2 home games now and time to pull it back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

A solid 15th place in the conference!

Time to go troll some Saints fans.

Lads ye have a thoroughbred in Jimmy Graham, why is the offence not using him?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Our offence generally doesn't do what you think it should.

Genuinely would of been a lot better for ye if yer coaching staff remembered that ye gave up a pro bowler and a 1st round pick for a te

Do not seem to know how to play him. Haven't had a player of his kind for ages.

NFL site - Chancellor on the way to Seattle for talks with management.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Seahawks app has informed me that "SS Kam Chancellor reports to Seahawks."

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

So finally a W on the board.

    Positives:
Not conceding a point although we have to factor in the injuries to the Bears offence.
Lockett - 105 yard kick off return - franchise record. What a start this rookie is having.
Graham finally gets thrown the ball and scores a TD. Needs to get the ball more.

    Negatives:
Offence was poor (bit better second half). To only put two field goals on the board in the first half was disappointing.
Lynch getting another injury. Came in with a calf injury, left with a hamstring injury.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Good summary. The second half was reminiscent of the second half of last year, grinding the opposition to a halt. Our offensive line continues to be porous at best.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Fortunately we have another home game against a team in god awful form next week. Try and get the offence up and running. Should be back to 2-2.

Kam Chancellor is amazing, read every single play last night and directed the whole D around. So glad he's back, 14-2? :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

I'd take another 12-4, as long as Arizona slip!

They will, people seem to forget that they played a terrible Saints Offense and Defence really.

Less said about the 49ers and Bears the better.

They'll get found out like they always do.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Oh my heart. Kam Kam Kam

Dan Quinn takes the Falcons to 4-0, scoring the second most points so far of any team in the NFL.

I'd say that's pretty much a perfect start!

Just saw the highlights - that would have been pretty hairy to watch live! Great play by Kam, and we got lucky with that late call. A huge test next which I'm not confident about at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Woke up and turned on the tv at 13-3 with 10 mins left on the clock.

Sure I'll watch the relaxing last few mins tick down and head back to bed....

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    It's happening again!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

With the same result, FFS. Threw away a good lead there.

I've really got to delete the seahawks app from my phone. Yet another week I've seen the score before I've seen the match :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    And again.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,070 ✭✭✭OU812

    Damn it...

They're busting my chops right now... How soon before they're out of the running??

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    Oh not too long now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

We're only one win worse off than this time last year but more importantly, we're not functioning. The defence gives up big plays at important times and the running game so often leads to small gains and a punt. Our two strongest components aren't working; our offense isn't good enough to carry them. Last night was sickening - I don't know if its realism or fatalism but the playoffs seem a long, long way away.

I can see us giving some team an absolute beating off the back of this poor run.

Hopefully its the 49ers on Thursday night!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Just 14 points up starting 4Q. Say it was nervous. Didn't see the game but 20-3 couldn't have been a poor performance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 252 ✭✭limerickfc

Just watched it their, Yer D was A1 last night. Earl Thomas and Wagner were always around the ball, and Yer whole D line dominated the 49ers for the whole game. Very impressive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,070 ✭✭✭OU812

If only they'd taken that 3rd & 0 play in the Super Bowl...

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    Sigh, if only

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Much better performance all-round, but has to be taken in the context of the 49ers being poor this year. Russell threw a couple of long interceptions which hopefully won't dampen ideas of going long again. I'm glad they seem to be doing it more this season, and the TD by Lockett was a cracker.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    4-4 with another convincing win......

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Also hope Lockett is ok. Don't like to see that on a football field.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Have the game highlights recorded to watch later but I know the result. That's us goosed for the season, I think. Three wins behind the Cards and not looking too hot for a Wildcard. It's a pity -- if we'd won last night we had a run of winnable games after until Cards away on the last weekend. Defence has been patchy and offense has been consistently anaemic.

I think they started the season cocky. Two superbowls in a row & the favourites for a third. Went to their heads.

Their playing (with a couple of notable exceptions) was woeful this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Might be the kick up the backside this team needs. Draft well and come back next season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

I wonder how much the Superbowl disaster played a part. When things got tough, the belief seemed missing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Haven't been able to put teams away this year, apart from the 49ers. Seem to win or lose every game by one score.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Well played Mr. Rawls, well played.

Serious Potential, could be another masterclass from Schneider and Carroll picking up an undrafted star!

Lynch was sent to a specialist this week so doubt he will be back for next weekend.
Be interesting to see how Rawls gets on V the Steelers defence

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Lynch having surgery today, likely to miss 4 weeks

    Steelers
    @ Vikings
    @ Ravens
    Browns

Going to see alot more of Rawls in the next few weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,930 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

That's four winnable games and everytime I've seen Rawls play he looks good. I don't think it's a huge disadvantage to be without Lynch with the way he has been playing this season. He has never really engaged beast-mode this season.

I think you guys will make the playoffs but it's going to be hard work to win the NFC Championship with all games on the road. I do think you are the only team that could stop the Cardinals from reaching the Superbowl.

As well as the Panthers have done I just don't think they are up to the standard of the top two teams in the NFC West.

Should beat Ravens and Browns, have no confidence on the road this year so Vikings will be tough, though it will be interesting to see how they bounce back from the Packers loss. They play the Falcons this week who seem to be in freefall at the moment. Steelers will be tough too but at home you have to expect a win.

In relation to the Panthers, they beat us this year in Seattle so cant really put them down. We've played both them and the Cardinals this year and there wasnt much between them.

Now that was fun to watch.
