Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wait for pellegrini's press conference later.

I'm hoping that Dzeko is fit and starts in place of Jovetic :) I certainly think that Dzeko's physical presence would be more suited to Stoke defensive play than Jovetic.

Would be a fantastic week if Costa scores and Jovetic gets a 1 point appearance from the bench. Punishment for a huge amount of knee-jerkers. Last week Mata started the punishment.

I think we need a knee-jerk regret thread. Last week was Mata. Who will be the champion this week? A brace for Dzeko perhaps. Aguero to get injured within 60 seconds? Jovetic to not play?

I propose a forum wide ban of the word "knee jerk". It's becoming as annoying as "bandwagon".

Yesss ... Aguero was absolutely fine every time last year before he broke down on 23 mins.

Probably only annoys those that knee jerked though

Careful now, a few around here hit the WC this week due to false totalfpl data and false tabloid injury news ;)

I thought about it myself but there are too many variables at the minute. I may still do it next week although this is less likely now with Costa back. I wouldn't wildcard to get rid of a few players, just take a points hit.

I'm carrying a FT to next week so expect to hold on to my WC as 2 FT will do me okay. A -8 would practically give me the equivalent of a WC anyway with 2 FT and a decent current team so no need to knee-jerk, ahem..... i mean no need to react without due consideration ;)

Normally using your WC late in a gameweek would be pretty retarded but if the price changing system remains hard to figure out then the wildcards value as a means to boost the coffers becomes lessened. I reckon I'll use it over the next few weeks either way.

I think if I can keep my team in decent shape for the next few weeks, then around GW 5/6 would be the best time, or at least it seems like that to me.

By that stage, City's fixtures will have easy, Aguero will be fitter (or just injured again!) and we should have a good idea if Pelligrini wants to use Dzeko or Jovetic more.

Also, transfer window will be closed and other players like Di Maria will be settled in we will have had a chance to look at them.

Finally, we might have a good idea of how the price rises are actually be working, and be better able to exploit some rises.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yeah Aguero is key for me, although I want to wait until the fixtures ease up for City and get harder for United. Rooney could still come good! Also looking at possibly having 3 City players which would be silly atm. GW 5 or 6 seems best. Aguero's not even guaranteed to start the next few games, theres doubts over Costa, Rooney still has the easiest fixtures... and thats only in attack!

I would imagine it annoys those who know the word is being used out of context.

Definitions of the word "knee jerk":
"A spontaneous, thoughless, predictable and stereotypical reaction to something, usually an opinion or a statement".
"To react without thinking. To form an opinion without paying attention
    automatic, quick and without thought".
"an immediate unthinking emotional reaction produced by an event or statement to which the reacting person is highly sensitive; - in persons with strong feelings on a topic, it may be very predictable".

I think you'll struggle to find active users on this forum who make FPL decisions "without thinking".

I made it very clear to people last week that laughing and having a go at your fellow FPL player for a bad run or a poor week is not on. A few people are on my radar.

    Final warning about this lads.

I plan to pull him out anyway. The WC punt didn't work. Waiting to see how Studge does today.

If fit Ill give him next week. Was worth the punt can downgrade to any player in the game and have some cash left over.

Yep I definitely think he was worth the punt. Will downgrade him now though. Don't think I'll bother giving him another week. United look brutal.

Makes Sterling a bit more appealing?

No way am I touching my transfers til this international break is completely over and a day or 2 has passed.

This is an example here of why you never should. Aguero Barca was one that caught me out last year.

And Balotelli at 10.00, generally makes all Pool attackers more appealing.

Sturridge and RVP are two of my strikers decisions decisions.

Could be nothing. He was meant to miss six weeks last week.

I have him and Sturrudge and already used my two FT so this could be a nightmare.

Until i see costa in crutches, i won't believe it consider a week ago he was out for 6 weeks to 3 months.

Unless confirmed he will be my captain and if he doesn't play my vice captain will do the job.

Him only playing like 13 minutes for Colombia doesn't fill me with confidence for this coming week either.

Ye i think I'll stick with RVP this week myself as I have to shift sturridge. In time will do RVP to Falcao when we see the way Utd line up.

That's the plan for me too in terms of not chaining my United players immediately, I'll watch the QPR game and then decide what I do and don't want.

Hopefully Falcao doesn't start, and that decision becomes even further rewarded.

People forget too that QPR have a good squad. Some new additions and they've more points from three fixtures than United!

    The Henderbus is coming,
    And everyone is jumping,
    Newcastle to the Classico,
    An intercity Isco,
The wheels of steel are turning,
    And traffic lights are burning,
So if you like to party,
Get on and move your body.

There will never be a Henderbus replacement service :)

Apparently the henderbus has broken down in training and will undergo a fitness test later today. Pool players are not fairing too well with this international break.

England: Hart, Stones, Cahill, Jones, Baines, Wilshere, Henderson, Delph, Sterling, Welbeck, Rooney. Subs: Forster, Rose, Jagielka, Chambers, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Townsend, Lambert.
