At a rough estimate it has to be worth in the region of €900 - €1000 killanena. Probably closer to €1000 IMO. It is an awesome spec though so could even be €1100 :P

Hi guys hope this is the right place.

I'm looking at selling my PC i built in September 2012. It was used a bit initially, but I changed jobs early in 2013, and found I have not used my PC much since, so it's in perfect condition.

I have an Alienware M17x R2 I bought June 2012. Do not even reply to me about disdain for Alienware.

Processor : Intel Core i7 Processor 620M(2.66GHz,4MB cache)
    Display : 17in WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 - Beyond HD (900p) - Dual CCFL
    Memory : 8192MB (2x4096) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Graphics : Single 1GB ATI GDDR5 Mobility Radeon HD 5870

Oh yeah funny story I know the lads at dell fairly well and they gave me a free graphics card change each year. So technically the graphics card is only a year old lol. There was no reason except to get a free card hehe

    €350 - €400 with monitor
    • Processor is very out dated.
    • Display is 900p. Standard is 720p andd 1080p.
    • Memory is slow.
    • Graphics card is old and you need 2gb of video memory these days to play on high res textures.
    • Im guessing its a pretty slow 1tb hard drive as well.

If you do intend on selling it I'm sure someone who is buying there first rig and doesn't know much about specs will buy it for about €500 sense it is alienware. The name itself adds value for some people. Id also consider overclocking that processor up to 3.2ghz and adding another cheap secondhand Radeon HD 5870. There will be a massive performance difference for probably an extra €50.

It is a laptop so why would I need to sell my monitor. I can run any game as the hi spec with no lag. That includes Skyrim at hires. I have a primary monitor which is a 27inch with 1920x1080. What is the 1TB you are on about? I have the 500GB 840 Pro Samsung SSD. Sorry but you must have the wrong system

My bad man, Thought it was a full tower. Ye those are some nice specs for a laptop. You will prolly get like 800 for it, 1000 even if you are lucky :p

Oww yipee :) Thank's man hehe when you gave that low a price I think I may have cried a lil. My partner is giving me his so I will probably bench my laptop as a server machine instead as low power consumption hehe

Haha his pricing was honest from the information he was given, should have said laptop? Or did I miss that too?being a laptop may make it more expensive, but on the flip side even less powerful than his 500 euro desktop valuation... actual real world performance matters in gaming.

laptop Gpu ,CPU are weaker hillbilly cousins to their desktop counterparts.
Sorry if I pissed on your bonfire.

Sorry if I pissed on your bonfire.

Type into google "Alienware M17x R2" It is the make, model and version of said laptop.
Now darling my laptop can hands down beat most "hard core" gaming PCs. Also what did I say above? Don't even bother trying to whine how good your cheaper PC is. I had money back then. I spent it and it paid off. I needed something I could move around me because I travelled a lot.
Oh and actual real world performance is modding skyrim with 4k textures, having everything set to the max and having 30+ FPS. Let alone playing BF4 with medium grafics at 30 FPS which considering her age is not bad in the least.

I have no idea why you even replied when this thread is about receiving help on pricing the item. It is not meant to be about you trying to tell me how **** my laptop is compared to your pc. If you want a dick measuring contest take it somewhere else.

Its a fact that PC's are going to be more powerful then a laptop. Cheaper too.
In my build I have an 8 core processor running overlocked a 5.0 GHz. Which only cost 200 euro. 230 if you include the cooling. Find a laptop with that spec. Im sure your laptop can run most games great but the example above you gave, The elderscrolls skyrim is 2 years old. Hardly a new game. + That game ran medium / high on one of my old machines that has a nvidia 430 1gb.. Incredibly low end card that I got on eBay for a 10'er.

Edit: To note, 60 FPS is considered the stable cap. Not 30.

No one is attacking you lol. All that the SterlingArcher was saying is that you should have mentioned it was a laptop as everyone else is listing desktops unless stated it is a laptop.

Wow, I thought you were looking to sell your laptop but changed your mind. I was just letting you know that to sell it you would get a more powerful pc for the price from the sale.....

It appears there has been some confusion, I'm not a pc elitist or anything like it, hell my friends would be shocked to know I even play games on one.

I bow out of this hissy fit competition. Best of luck with your laptop

    "Bumping" this question again;

Selling parts, but not sure on what to charge. Reason; have upgraded machine.

    Socket 775 Motherboard: Gigabyte X48-DS5
CPU: 2.83GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 with a TRUE 120 heat sink.
    RAM: DDR2 4*2GB PC2-6400 (4GB CM2X2048-6400C5DHX + 4GB PSD22G80026)

I have OC'ed the CPU from 2.83GHz to about 3.2GHz. CPU temp is about 35 degrees, going up to 51 degrees when I run Prime95 on "Torture Test". Only ran it like so for a week about 2 years ago to see if I could, but was unable to keep the graphics card stable (I was a total n00blet at OC'ing back then).

As such, how much would such a base be worth?

Tried to post this in another thread but I think this might be more appropriate. Not interested in splitting, just a bit unsure about what the total build might be worth these days.

Self-built ~September 2011. Watercooled CPU only, loop is capable of accommodating a GPU (No GPU block supplied). Two years of running at 4.4GHz, water still crystal clear (everything thoroughly pre-flushed with de-ionised water before assembly) and no sign of reduced cooling with time, tubing discoloured on the outside. Max temp registered ~62C with mid 20C room temperatures running BF3. Automatic control of all fans through mobo headers.
    No mouse or keyboard included.

    Full spec:
    i5-2500k
    MSI Z68A-GD80-G3 mobo
    Gigabyte Windforce 3X GTX 670
    16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 4x4GB
Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 PSU
Corsair Obsidian 700D Full Tower Case
Corsair 700D USB3.0 front panel upgrade kit (supplied but not installed)
    IC Diamond Thermal paste
    Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB
Akasa 140mm Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fan (x3)
Akasa 120mm Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fan (x6)
    DEMCiflex 120mm Dust filter (x3)
EK Supreme HF CPU Waterblock – Copper Plexi
    Mayhems Ultra-Pure H20
Alphacool Laing D5 Vario Pump 655
    EK-D5 X-Top V2 Acetal
Hardware Labs Black ICE SR-1 360 Radiator
    XSPC Single Bay Res
Masterkleer 7/16” ID Tubing Clear/UV Blue
    Acer GD245HQ – 23.6” 1920x1080 120Hz Monitor

Hey guys! Need some advice if possible... A mate of mine gave me his old Graphic's card & RAM to use in my first build but I think I'd rather design my own.

Not expecting a lot as they are old but can anyone give me an idea if they're sell-able today and at what price?

    Thanks in advance!

yeah i wouldn't see why it would be to sell it you can still buy it. Id say you'd only get 50-60 euro though if lucky because of age and use.

    Hi all,

I have a problem with my wired network system. I have a wallplate attached to wall, in my apartment, which can take an RJ45 ethernet cable. (Cable originates back at the apartment block entrance, not on my property) I have a patch cable from wallplate to 5 port network switch. However, I do not have a wireless signal in my apartment, it's too weak.

Is it possible to buy some device that will attach to my network switch, via an ethernet Cat5e cable and send out a wireless signal. I do not wish to rewire as I am only a tenant and I need a signal in Kitchen, Bedroom, etc.

I would very much appreciate any help/suggestions.
    regards,
