Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There's plenty of people on quite modest incomes paying that and more in depreciation though :)

Exactly, you purchase a €160 a year motor tax entry level VW Golf for €20k, depreciation in year 1 will be over double the motor tax cost of a 3.2 litre plus car.

I hate to be a downer on the parade but by taxing it quarterly it now costs 40 euro a week.

I would love a barge and have always loved e38's, but that is just absolute crazy town money wise.

I know theirs the whole "I don't drink" , could be doing worse etc. Argument. But unless you're absolutely loaded (in which case you probably won't be buying an old car, paying 40 quid a week on tax sure is a silly idea.

And that's before you pull up at the petrol station for the clerk to tell you ' Sorry sir, we don't have enough petrol to fill your car' :P

The guilt of arriving up with your supertanker and taking over double the common mans fuel in one scoop :D

I like these, only 3 months NCT left but if you know your beans that's not a huge concern, almost 3 months tax there too so that's €200 ish, asking €1800 for a 2003 110k S60 petrol that looks straight :)

S60 has come down a lot in price recently. For that €1,800 I would want the belt to have been done in the last year or two though, or I'd look elsewhere :D

    Not for Carlow.

Edit: The end of year regs for Carlow since 04 the highest was just over 3,000, going as low as 900 in 09.

So basically anything over 3,000 Carlow reg you can be assured it is an Import.

Buy it now, for €1650 tax it in May for €1500 and sell it next year for €1500

Driving a thing like that for €97 a month + fuel and insurance. WOW!

One owner diesel estate. Milage not excessive.
Overpriced, but pick it up closer to a grand and its a sound bus.
Not sure about the 2 year nct claim??

Wheels and colour wouldn't be to many peoples taste :)
But I wonder is there a 3S-GE 4gen redtop BEAMS engine in this yoke? If so 'twouldn't be too bad potentially, only 3 months test though and quite likely has superstrut suspension but if there's no knocks it's probably fine (savage speed bumps along a road a few hundred yards away from JoBs to check that anyway), asking €975 but I doubt there's much off that if anything tbh.
