Completed Heavy Rain last night ....not sure how I feel about it. One big Quick time event with an OK story that was a bit all over the place

Finished Watch Dogs last night truly terrible game with some awful characters in it. A short story with millions of collectibles and side missions. Usual from Ubisoft.

Beat Zelda: A Link Between Worlds the other day. I thought it was very very good.

Think youre being a tad harsh there. I had a blast with it. Nice looking game, good humour and interesting gameplay.

Finished both episodes of Burial at Sea and really enjoyed them. It's what all DLC should strive to be, bit size chunks of gaming which do something a little different to the base game. The stealth aspect is hardly groundbreaking but it was fun and offered a different challenge than what we've come to expect and the manner in which the story tied into the events of the first game was a masterstroke.

With a third game supposedly in the works I'm not sure where they are going to go with it as the ending here was perfect. We came full circle and so many questions that we had were answered.

dont get me wrong it had great visuals and humor but for me it just felt like any other fps with a few nice unique extras (kill skills etc) but thats just my opinion

Not many this year at all, i'm afraid.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
    Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
    Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
    Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

I didn't want to like COD4 when i played it at a friends, and there's some stuff i really don't like but i found it pretty enjoyable, certainly enough to pick up the three of them for myself and finish them (though i didn't think they's be so short)

Advanced Warfighter was a great game though. loved everything about it except the difficulty!

and sure, MGS is MGS. Portable Ops actually took the longest because it was such a pain in the arse getting used to the PSP controls.

Yeah it's pretty linear like the games that inspire it. And for such a cheap game, I think I only encountered one glitch.

I know the feeling, I started off really well but I haven't completed a game in a couple of months now. I just try to relax and play what I want though, no point completing games just for the sake of it. Play what you enjoy and you'll naturally start finishing more games.

I finished Final Fantasy 8 (again) on PC getting the Squall at initial level achievement. Wasn't that bad with the new speed up option (which is how I usually play them in emulators anyway).

Probably a bit of a controversial one as it got pretty poor to average scores when it was released but I just completed 007 Quantum of Solace on the weekend and I really enjoyed it.

Enter level, shoot people, end level. Nice.

Good map system (never lost), they kept it really simple, no running around looking for keys or any other pointless stuff. Get in, get out.

The train level was a stand out for me and the final stages were also action packed. Good cut scenes, explosions etc..

I paid €5 for it new in the tesco sale recently. Definately got my fivers worth from it. If I didnt have such a big backlog I'd actually replay it at the harder difficulty. Alas I have about a billion games to get through.

My next game of choice from said backlog being loaded onto the 360 is Alan Wake. It got rave reviews so really looking forward to this one.

    I've just completed Glider Rider!

I got the game in a sale originally, and it came with no instructions. I spent the first ten years or so exploring the countryside, with no real idea what I was supposed to do.

    Perseverance pays off!

Finally completed the story in Watch Dogs after just playing dribs and drabs of it, was pretty dull with some sprinkles of good missions in it and the story did suddenly get better towards the end.

Really was a bit of a soulless game, not as bad as people were saying but I could only play it a bit at a time before getting bored.

Now finally I can get replay Wolfenstein, that was a cracker of a game!

I really enjoyed that. got it for €3 in a sale, It lags a bit in the middle, but stick with it. You'll be satisfied upon completion.

    Crysis 2 down.

That was probably one of the most incoherent games I've ever played. None of it made sense, absolutely none of it.

Very pretty though, pity about some of the questionable level design and god awful AI. :o

On the final boss of God Of War 3 which is proving to be a nightmare.
Also making good headway in Borderlands 2 and Metro Last Light. Should have Metro and GoW 3 done soon.

Finally finished another few games in 2014! In the bag this year:

    Nexus 7

    - Swordigo: cool little platformer, worked well on the tablet
    - The Room: puzzle game that everyone seems to have played!
    - Kingdom Rush: enjoyable tower defense
    - Spider: fun for what it was

    PC

    - Guacamelee: absolutely awesome, one of my favourite games of the past few years
    - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons: this was exceptional, a great gaming experience
    - Crysis Warhead: enjoyable for what it was, very similar to the original Crysis
    - Mass Effect 3: was pretty good but not a patch on the first two in terms of the plot
    - Assassin's Creed 2: The first AC game I played, really enjoyable if a bit of a slog towards the end. Took 33 hours and I ignored many of the collectibles. Has aged really well. Have AC: Brotherhood (PC) and AC3 (Wii U) in my backlog

    Wii U

    - Super Mario Bros. U: Just finished the main 'campaign' there, played it through co-op with my wife, took us a few months. Good little game, could be tough and looked gorgeous in HD. Still a bit of content unplayed (Superstar Road) but won't return to it for a long while I'd say

Still working on Zelda Windwaker on the Wii U (I'm starting to lose interest but am quite close to the end), Rayman Origins (co-op with the wife), Bit.Trip presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien and Serious Sam 3 BFE on the PC and Broken Sword on the Nexus 7.

Will be finished at least two of the above in the next few weeks, so will have some fun choices to make as my backlog is bigger than ever!

    PS3

    GTA V
    Rain
    Remember Me
    The Last of Us
    Hitman Absolution
    Assasin's Creed Liberation HD
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
    Metro: Last Light
    Civilisation Revolution

    Adding:

Tomb Raider - was thinking of waiting to get a PS4 but then it came to Plus. Thought it was great. Like Uncharted 3.5 with Far Cry 3 collectibles.

Batman: Arkham City. Another Plus-log. Quality game too.

DA: O - The Golems of Amgarrack (tough on hard)

DA: O - Witch-Hunt. Hadn't got round to finishing these.
I f*cking love Dragon Age

Came close to finishing NFS: Most Wanted and Everybody's Golf but don't think I'll ever finish either.

    Tearaway
    Resogun
    Virtua Tennis 4
    Mario Kart 8

    Adding:
God of War 3 - Absolutely brilliant game, still stunning visually. The final boss is really difficult on titan mode though, after about 20 attempts I dropped the difficulty just to finsh the game so that I could move on to others. Have a save ready to go back and try it again on titan when I have some time.

    Watch Dogs (PS4)

Games I can remember completing this year:

Tearaway (PS Vita): Well, I started it in 2013 but I finished it in 2014 so I think it counts. Great Game. It's a shame that so few developers show much interest in making quality games for the Vita in comparison to other gaming platforms.

Puppeteer (PS3): I got this while on PS+. 11gb takes a long time download on my connection, that's for sure. The graphics are quite impressive to say the least.

Pixeljunk Eden (PS3): It's an old game but I bought and completed it this year. Loved it. The gameplay, art style and music came together to make an enjoyable experience. Even though some levels can be a bit frustrating.

Just finished Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3)

I am a huge fan of the recent Batman series but Origins felt like I was playing Arkham City all over again. Story arcs were good but overall it felt like its predecessor.
