Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Are you referring to Gardaí or some other group?

I'd be surprised if you could find a FG supporter in the emergency services forum.

I realise it's unpopular to not hate on FG and FF at every opportunity so forgive me for adopting a less biased approach based on experience in criminal law.

Found it on the RTE website. It's hardly assault now is it. I've done the same and had the same done to me at many gigs and in nightclubs etc. To call it assault is laughable to be honest. If that qualifies as assault then the next time Metallica play a gig in Dublin the Gardai should be waiting outside to arrest everyone that comes out after because they'll all be guilty of assault. The TD was a bit heavy handed alright and he probably should have been a bit less aggressive, but the guy was getting too close. Nobody should be able to approach the door of the taioseach's car like that before he's even gotten out

It's worth considering that you wouldn't see anyone getting that close to any other head of state when they are getting out of their car. If that guy had tried the same in the US or France or the UK he would have been tackled by security fairly quickly and then arrested regardless of what his intentions were. Security should have been there waiting for Kenny to arrive to prevent this sort of situation from arising.

For me the bigger question has to be where was Enda`s security?

I highly doubt you would get any similar rukus for a national leader in any other country, and certainly not as the leader was exiting his vehicle.

It was a fairly pathetic thing for a TD to do, it should hopefully highlight to his electorate what a pathetic man he is.

Just seen the clip, I'm quite underwhelmed. Pretty much a nothing incident.

About time they merged; they're pretty much identical in terms of political ideology anyway.

So its ok for the US Secret Service to protect the President, but if someone gets 'shoved' in Ireland there has to be enquiry?!

Exactly - would be assassins must first be offered a daisy chain or failing that a box of chocolates. We have to respect their civil rights and freedom of expression.

It certainly takes a certain type of individual to become a politician alright.

Here we had 2 TD's, as such trying to be the first up to lick the bosses arse. The first guy to get there shoves the other one away, they remind me of 2 five year little kids in a bloody sweet shop each trying to get the treats before the other fellow.
I fell sorry for the people of Roscommon if that is the mentality of the individuals representing them, mind you the rest of us have not got anyone much better.

the sitting td claimed 160k in unvouched exe's last year, also i see in todays paper that he is the proud owner of 10 gaff's, no wonder he is giving it his all to be returned to power.

He'll be knocking doors and telling the people "we're all suffering, i know your pain" and then having a good snigger to himself.

And they will believe him and vote accordingly

True indeed that he's so protective of 'the golden goose' ;)

Who once said... 'power doesn't corrupt but the fear of losing it does'...???
