Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That band name sparked a memory, Think I have one of their albums
at home called "Within the Realms of a dying sun". Bought the CD along with
another band called "Black Tape for a blue girl" but I could never get into the style of music.

Best gigs for me would have been

    U2 at Slane 2001
Tool in Belgium in 05 or so
Beastie Boys 06 at Rock Werchter Belgium
    Flaming Lips in Vicar Street
    James brown in Vicar Stret
Faith No More in the Olympia
Seen Biffy Clyro not even sell out Whelans back in 03 then
seen them the year after in The Voodoo Lounge.
Rage against the machine in the O2
The Eels in Temple Bar Music Centre
    Fantomas in The Village
    Battles in Vicar Street

Worst gigs would be The Red Hot Chilli Peppers in Landsdown Road in
2002 or so then when The Kings of Leon supporting The Pixies in the same place afew years later.

I've seen tthe Red Hot Chili Peppers 3 times and they were great every time. Coldplay were fantastic as well. I wish I could have seen Oasis before they split up.
I've seen the Chili Peppers twice and I thought they were crap both times (Lansdowne Road and Phoenix Park I think). I've seen Pearl Jam twice too and they were amazing both times.

Try 'Into The Labyrinth' their best known album or 'Anastasis' released last year. Some great stuff on both.

Best I've seen live: Porcupine Tree, Rush, Roger Waters ,Rammstein and God is an Astronaut.

Going to see Steve Wilson (solo stuff) soon, expect him to be up there.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

No contest for me. Led Zeppelin at the O2 London and Rush many times all over Europe and Canada can't be beaten. 3 hours every time with a spectacular light show. Notable additions, Rammstein and Roger Waters.

It's really hard to decide on a best performance because so many other factors affect my enjoyment of a gig.

    Ones that stand out are:

    Smashing Pumpkins (Olympia, 2000)
    Faithless (Witnness 2001)
    Placebo (Olympia 2000)
    Stereophonics (The Point 1999)
    Blur (RDS ?1997?)

Not the biggest fan, but I have enjoyed Robbie Williams several times, at Slane and in the Point.

Worst was probably RHCP in Landsdowne Road 2002. They're consistently shit though, and were terrible in the Phoenix Park and at Oxegen 2006.

The Streets was also unbearably awful at Oxegen 2005.

Nope, Witnness was 2000 and Muse didn't play until 2004.

I must have been hallucinating when I saw them at Witnness in 2001 so.

Metallica in the O2 Arena in London in 2008. It was a fan club only show a day or two after Death Magnetic was released. They played a load of rare songs as well as some new ones and the place was wild.

Foo Fighters in Milton Keynes in 2011. An amazing day, the perfect venue and an absolute monster of a show!
