Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. We Bought a lovely leather 2 & 3 seater couch from Mick. Genuine decent guy with business etiquette galore. Great selection of products, we found exactly what we were looking for at a fraction of the price. Delivered within hours of buying, friendly personal service with a smile, and that is hard to come by nowadays. :) We will be buying from him again and wonder why we haven't had him recommended before now!
Thanks Mick. See you again when we need more quality furniture!

may i add my name to list of people satisfied in the boudoir by big mickey......(that sounds so wrong). went down to him a couple of weeks ago from wexford and got a king size memory foam mattress, duvet, pillows, sheets and a headboard all in for 430. couldnt be happier. he delivered as far as arklow for free cos he was down that way anyway. what an absolute gentleman..... couldnt recommend him highly enough and will definately be back for more. thanks mick.

p.s when i told him i read about him on the internet, he asked me straight out was i boardsie... haha

Bought a top notch bed and matress (super king) and head board for €650.

The head board is in the shops for that price.

Top notch service and follow up afterwards to make sure I was happy with everything.

    Seriously quality service.

Not just beds either, there is lots of furniture

Went down to Mickey at the last sale date. He's a sound man. Bought a leather super king bed with pocket sprung mattress and an oak king with the Sealy "mattress in a box". Won't be able to put them together for a few months though as house is not finished :(

Can't wait to get at them! The two complete beds were less than the cost of a similar leather bed frame alone in other shops.

Will definitely be going back when we move in.

Thumbs up to Mickey too, got a mattress delivered unseen, very very happy. Great value, no 'bs', service. ;)

Ended up here looking for directions last week! Sound guy, extremely helpful, put us on the right track. Will definitely be back for a bed after reading all these comments. Nice one Mickey!

Got a pocket sprung super king size bed and divan with drawers from bigmickey.ie which he sourced for us after we sent him a picture of what we wanted with a Stuart Jones head board, a very similar mattress was over 2000 Euros in a competitors - we got the whole lot for a little over a third of that price!!

Dorma sheets for a tenner. delivery for free to Limerick and no BS or sales talk - the deal speaks for itself .

Gonna head back and get some more stuff for the rest of the house.
    Thanks Mick.

Probably a silly question but here goes.
Do pillow top mattreses dip were you lie.
I got a rest assured pillow top last wk. But within days there were 2 perminant groves. And it seems to be getting platter and then a rise were theres no body inprint. Is this ment to happen, iv never had a pillow top so im not sure.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,056 ✭✭✭✭BostonB

That was our experience with one. I think its going to happen to any mattress you can't flip. Within days seems a bit fast though. Ours took a year or more before that happened.

Iv tried smoothing it out so leavel it but its just staying with 2 big dints.

Depends what you've been doing in it and how fast. :D
Give Mick a call he'll tell you if its normal or not.

Thanks Svetti ( no coment) :D
Il give Mick a ring, i didnt want to seem stupid by ringing him
    if its normal :o
Just wondering if anyone on this thread who has bought one of these
    is having the same problem.
It would be typical that out of 100s who bought the bed id be the
one who would have a problem :(

    Hi PAC
The same thing happened me with the pillow top mattress. Big Mick exchanged it. No problems with the new mattress.

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭P.A.C

Thanks boysmother. Did you get another pillow top?
I will have to see because i need something with a soft top.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 boysmother

Exchanged it for a Sealy mattress and it's not a pillow top unfortunately. Still a very good mattress though.

Despite the snow, nothing could keep me away from BigMickeys. Went down to the sale yesterday and was not disappointed. I have been searching for a large corner unit to fit my large sitting room for the past few months! With prices averaging at €4000, I was begining to give up all hope. Thankfully, Mick had a very comfy 8 seater real leather corner unit. With recliner ends and only €1500, I couldn't refuse :) Mick gave us a bit of a discount because I collected it myself there and then.
I've got my corner unit and still money left in my pocket, I can't complain :) Thanks Mick :)

This is my new purchase :) Jealous much? :P

just back from a visit to big mickeys
wow is all I can saw, we walked around looking a loads of furniture and as we walked around we found a bed we liked asked him about it, he brought us down and proceeded to tell us all about it. he then told us no matter what he tells us the price it will sell itself.

superkingsize bed with one huge matteress that you'd need a stepladder to get onto the bed with for less than the price of a lump of wood from bargain******town.

What a man, very nice, offered us tea or coffee and will do anything to cope with any budget.
Cannot recommend enough. my suggestion is to never go near a clearys or hardly normal or anything like that just take a trip down and see him.

Ordered a 4 foot bed from Big Mickey last month, and all I can say is that the price and service was exemplary!

    Excellent bed, price and delivery.

    Cheers Mickey-Man!

corner units, wardrobes sofas, tables. beds. socks. andrex. you name it he has it. and anything he has is solid built unlike the crap you can get for more money in other stores. take a trip down. he said he might open next weekend. I would advise giving him a buzz.

Emailed Michael yesterday and he's delivering free of charge this evening to Sligo! It's not a big sale either (but cheaper than local shops) so fair play to him.

Thanks to the OP for the recommendation.

our monster super king size bed arrived today. the 2 lads delivering it were done and all within 10 minutes. gave them a little something to take home and something for mickey as well ;)

all I can say is the bed is massive, really well worth the money we paid for it and to think someone used to pay 4.5k for this bed

Just want to add my appreciation to this thread. Bought king size Slient Night Miratex & double Rest Assured Hartwell pkt 1400 mattresses off him for a great price. Based on the rave reviews here I had confidence to place the order over the phone without even seeing the mattresses and he personally delivered them to me today, 1 day after I ordered them and he was supposed to be finished up for Xmas and had no other deliveries to Dublin. In his own words "my word is my bond"! Great guy to deal with and superb customer service. Called me when he was leaving Longford and texted me after passing each town along the way to give me enough time to leave work and meet him.

Highly recommend and can't wait to try out my new mattresses!

Cheers Mick and Merry Xmas all! :D

I am considering asking Big Mickey to marry me, after the deal I got on one of his beds...

Hi - I first heard about this from my brother who works in Athlone when I mentioned to him that we would more than likely need a new sofa soon. He mentioned that loads of people from his workplace had purchased from mickeys and he said that even though it may be a little drive for me (Dublin), he said it may be worth it. Think from these posts that I'll definitely look here first. We know what we want and need (have young child and 2 dogs so you can well imagine).

Has anyone bought sofas from him of this type or can let me know if there's good choice in 3&2's?

    Thanks

Dunno about the sofa but all I know is that when we are buying our new place Mickey will be there at the housewarming. sitting on loads of furniture from Mickeys

I bought a lovely 3+2 leather reclining suite just before xmas from Mick. The same as you I had kids and pets in mind and he had a great selection to choose from. I would definitely go here b4 looking elsewhere, some great deals.

Awwe, as i lie back on my lovely and comfy bigmickey mattress!!:D:D:D

How can you say this thread stinks?? This is your second time to have a go at this thread? You wouldn't be the competition by any chance? There's alot of board members giving alot of positive feedback here. Isnt this what Bargain alerts is all about? Mod's?

Funny how every time this thread disapears off the front page some newbie
poster has a great praise post for Big Mick

Read back through the thread and see just how many long time users of boards are here with their feedback too. Is this a "Big Mickey" Conspiracy theory? Over 21000 hits on this thread might contradict your theory methinks.

21000 hits may have something to do with newbie posters bumping the thread

"how do i get this great product/ service"

    "wow best shop ever"
