I'll eat my hat if I am wrong on this.

So I haven't seen any articles about the audience for TV3's Xmas Toy Show, I am guessing it will be lower than last year. It also proves that TV3 aren't holding a high audience, if it is very low, it will be interesting to see how it did.

Twitter isn't reacting to I'm A Celeb at all with GIBO and XFactor both trending on the social media platform, it will be interesting to see how this reflex's with audiences.

    Does Facebook provide trends?

Well the TV3 Toy show saw a massive drop in audience with just 149,000 watching, this compares to 296,000 viewers last year.

Also just to mention that Medialive have stop putting in News programmes in their monthly numbers.

ITV's Coro St, Emmerdale and I'm A Celeb give UTV Ireland's best week with 203,000 viewers watching I'm A Celeb on Wednesday Night. The 20th programme of the week was Paul O'Grady getting just 94,000 viewers. No figures for the repeat of I'm A Celeb ... Now which aired an hour later than ITV2.

X-Factor continues to grow from TV3, but certainly a major drop from previous years with just 260,000 viewers tuning in for the Results show. But knock on effect for GIBO with 126,000 viewers, while I'm a Celeb had 202,000 viewers.

In fairness to TV3 they did hold on to their audience slightly better. All of their top 10 had over 100,000 viewers and over 70,000 viewers for the top twenty. Though Judge Judy is back with 3 episodes getting into the top twenty and Xpose had 3 also. While repeats of Celeb The Chase had 140,000 viewers.

If Graham Norton is anything to go by UTV Ireland isn't hold on to its I'm a Celeb audience.

Sport made up 4 of the top 5 shows on RTE2 showing how important sport is to the channel.

Red Rock had 101,000 viewers on Wed and 74,000 on Thursday.

The International Rules was the other sports programme, presumably. Slightly surprised IACGMOOH couldn't crack the top 30.

The International Rules was the other sports programme, presumably. Slightly surprised IACGMOOH couldn't crack the top 30.

International rules just miss out on the top show, with 270,000 viewers. Scotland V Ireland in shinty was the other sports programme.

It's hard to say how I'm a Celeb ... is doing as it had aired on 3e over the last number of years.

Sorry 3e last year had 392,500 viewers (total) for the first episode. 14% up from 2013.

First week average was 353,800 and I'm A Celeb had an average of 116,000 in its first week.

    Massively down for UTV Ireland.

Why have they stopped including news?

I was reading recently UTV are getting 50,000 for the 10'o clock and half that for the 5.30.

What does RTE 6.1 and 9 get? anyone know?

UTV Ireland sent out a press release today - saying they has their best day yesterday in terms of ratings.

    19:30 Corrie 417,000
    20:00 Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip 230,000 (15% share)
    20:20 Corrie 408,000
    21:00 I'm A Celeb 385,000

    Other notes:
"The UTV Ireland 10 o'clock news programme attracts an average of 50,000 viewers"
    &
"Next month, UTV Ireland will be the only place to watch Jeremy Kyle in Ireland"
Wonder does this mean those shared repeatsrights that TV3 had for ITV Studios programmes finishes this month. Although Celeb Chase & Graham Norton are scheduled for the first weekend of December.

So they provided a press release starting at 7:30 and finishing at 10pm

How did Ireland Live do on that Monday 385,000 to 50,000 is a massive drop and how did I'm a celeb NOW! Do at 11pm?

Just noticed this 264,400 watched TV3's Toy Show a drop of 209,000. Meaning about 100,000 children tuned in?

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

Late Late Toy Show had 1.36 million viewers!

Honestly think this is more to do with the build up to the show than anything else.

Very few toys on the toy show anymore, more of a children's talent show now.

Stunning figures for The Toy Show.

I think they could have replayed last year's Toy Show and nobody would have noticed. It's one big car crash rubbish tv but somehow it does so well. Like The Rose of Tralee, it's a bit of puzzle.

Wow what a week I think my usual review should just be put like so: -

Winning Streak was the most watch show last week with 385,000 viewers. Wow!

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

    Alright can't resist.

TV3, in fairness to them, are stagnating, though they are doing better than expected. Even when you consisider low audiences for Xfactor (223,000 and 162,000) and UEFA (179,000). Again more than 100,000 viewers for their top 10 programmes and more than 70,000 for their top twenty. Though Judge Judy and Xpose both feature 3 times in the top 20. GIBO is holding up against I'm A Celeb with 111,000 viewers.

RTE2 is still held up by sport with 207,000 viewers for UEFA, but everything else had under 100,000 viewers, if we want to talk about an identity RTE2 fails in all aspects. Reality Bites type programming falling back to 92,000 in second place.

UTV Ireland yet again miss fired. Their decision to air I'm A Celeb ... NOW! is mind bogglingly stupid. IMO I'm A Celeb is down due to this decision. Again are viewers staying for Ireland Live ????

But this is the first set of Top Twenty shows to all be above 100,000 viewers its a pity that The Pulse is the 20th programme with 129,000 viewers, it would be interesting to see what was in 21st place.

I wonder how Jeremy Kyle is doing now that its exclusive to UTV Ireland

And everything else even if the top show was Xfactor with 385,000 viewers Irish TV ratings have pretty much collapsed and this does not take into consideration OnDemand.

Winning Streak hasn't grown its audience.

Absolutely awful figures for RTE2. Vikings 50,000 and Rep Of Telly 56,000 on a Monday night.

Not even in the Top 20 include Hardy Bucks Rise Again, Homeland  and every prime time show on Thursday and Friday - with all these shows under 50,000.

Am I right in thinking that these figures only count viewers over 15 years old? The Toy Show would suffer more than most from that. In any case, the full figure was 1.36 million on Friday and another 170,000 for the Sunday repeat. They pushed it hard but that's still incredible.

I think it also means TV3 will win the top spot for 2015. Wasn't some of the rugby more watched than that?

No - in terms of average audience, Toy Show's 1.36m edges out Ireland v France's 1.2m

Sky News @ 11 on the night of the Paris attacks had 190,000 viewers, 14% share peaked at 210,000.

Once the under-15s are added, it would seem that the Mario ratings "crisis" seems overblown, roughly 350k doesn't appear a shabby figure.

Only 2 non-RTE One shows make the top twenty Coronation Street on UTV Ireland.

RTE ONE is just holding on to its audience. Strange that The Ray D'Arcy Show has finished for the year and won't return until Jan or Feb. People of The Year had 285,000 viewers. Again TLLS topped the chart with 507,000 viewers. With Mario Rosenstock getting 286,000 viewers which isn't bad considering.

All of RTE2's programmes were under 100,000 viewers with its 20th show getting just 50,000. Though this is similar to other weeks when you exclude Sport.

TV3 isn't growing either. While they are still keeping their audience across the schedule it must be worrying that Xpose and Judge Judy feature so much across their top twenty. Xpose having 102,000 viewers on Monday Night. Only 10 of their top twenty are prime time shows, Though in fairness VB Tonight continues to do well. GIBO had 103,000 against I'm a Celeb... Final at 236,000 on UTV Ireland, just missing out on the top shows this week.

UTV Ireland continues to have its best weeks of they year but like RTE2 and TV3 seem to be hanging on for Event shows.

Non of the channel did anything different over the year. UTV Ireland was the only one to move on News pushing it back to 5:30.

TV3 held out for RWC2015, and you'd wonder if they plan to hold out for 6 Nations. As RTE2 waits for sport.

They all seem to have no flexibility to overhaul their schedules. TV3 could have easily dropped either TSOC or Xpose in favour of a chat show, considering Ray D'Arcy's Saturday night show doesn't start until late September and has finished in Mid-November.

But then TV3 have shown that they weren't ready by 2015 for the loss of Coro St. and Emmerdale.

It's been a dreadful year for Irish Television.
