Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes, use it all the time online, booked flights with it two days ago and no problems!

When you say "no problems!" I presume you mean you weren't charged the €6 each way admin fee. I know someone else who booked this week using the Neteller card and was charged the admin fee you used to be able to avoid by using the card.

Nope, but that's a bit of a curve ball, my billing address isn't Ireland.

My sister also booked tickets this week using her net+ card she was charged teh 6 euro, but she used it without any hassle (I thought that was what you mean :o )

Possibly a potential way to avoid the fee then - use a Neteller Card when you have an address outside Ireland???????

You're neteller account would have to be registered there too! So far outside Irl, UK and Italy the prepaid mastercard should still be valid. There could be solid reasons for not charging the admin costs, some countries don't allow it (eg Germany)

Paypal wont add my prepaid moneybookers card?.

'This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.'

We'll probably need a new thread for the Ryanair Cash passport at some stage..... but just a note for the few posters that couldn't apply because they didn't have Irish passport. The Irish section for applying for the cash passport now seems to have a link to be able to apply by sending off proof of address/identity. The only thing is there's a typo or some technical problem cos the email address that they give bounces back. Eventually got through on the phone and told them after sending my application to a different email address.

Thanks will try that....what email address did you end up using?

Hmm .. we booked a flight a few weeks ago and used a Moneybookers Debit card, there was no fee.

However our billing address is not in Ireland.

Sheep Shagger - I used cardservices@accessprepaidww.com which seemed to get there ok although I haven't heard back from them yet. And the address that doesn't work still seems to be on the page as well.

With regards to the fee using other Mastercards, according to the Ryanair fees page there is none except for cards issued in U.K, Ireland, Italy, Germany & Spain. Doh!

It's always been possible to rent a car with a pre paid card!, you just need to ensure that you have enough money on it to cover the pre approved excess they charge, or pay the additional full cover insurance to avoid it being pre approved for the excess!

I readed in the other thread about cards http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055794082 that it wasnt possible with the Dublin one. But that doesnt matter now.
    Thank You.

I have a SKRILL MasterCard for a month now. In general I'm happy but on the first issue requiring contact with the company - the experience has been VERY POOR.

The issue it appears is that you CANNOT USE SKRILL MASTERCARD WITH APPLE ITUNES OR APP STORE IN IRELAND, because the card is issued in the UK; I spoke with Apple and that what I was told.

SKRILL operates it customer support from a call centre in Bulgaria, they are professional in their manner but they are totally powerless and isolated from SKRILL decision making; they are very slow and I have and no response to two emails in 10 days. So I phoned them and left with the conclusion that the whole effort was pointless.

Luckily I can purchase a 3V voucher with my SKRILL Card to resolve the matter

hi there, I'd rather blame Apple on this rather than Skrill/Moneybookers..think at my journey with them I've seen a confirmation the issuing bank is Newcastle Building Society, UK...so it's rather the call of Apple and their policy..

New to Boards (learning the ropes) so first private message on the issue repeated here:

I agree if all things were equal but Apple is one of the largest online retailers on the planet, so Moneybookers should allow for this and enable the SKRILL to be issued in Ireland.

Apple are the problem here, not Skrill...

Skrill Mastercards are issued by Wirecard Card Solutions based in the UK with a UK BIN number.

Your problem here is iTunes which has decided to have the requirement that the card needs to be issued in Ireland. They have the same in the UK store, you can only purchase with a UK issued card. I suspect it's licensing agreements behind it to ensure that only people in the country purchase.

So you should complain to Apple.

You can only lodge money online onto it, either via bank transfer (from an account in your name) or via your credit/debit card.

Maybe the card you think about with local loads at payzone is the Swirl Card.

I have one of these, don't use it much though as I've an AIB Visa Debit card.

I nearly always forget to cancel by the time the €10 fee is due! :pac:

Wouldn't be bothered with Moneybookers/Skrill or any prepaid card you have to pay for. Neteller all the way for me. It's got the same conditions as Moneybookers/Skrill in that you have to confirm your ID, but I found them to be so much nicer and no charge for the card either.

Hardly ever use my actual CC now, when ever I'm doing anything I just load it with my spends and no bills a month later. Absolute heaven!
