Where was the Lancaster positioned? It's way way higher than the Vulcan (and the hanger) in that pic. Possibly fake

Quote from the B787 vs A380 article i the photo thread

The rivalry between Airbus and Boeing, the chief competitors for the passenger airline market, has only been exacerbated by the launch of their comparatively-sized new age airliners. Despite Boeing's numerous problems in launching the Dreamliner, it has still gone toe-to-toe with Airbus' A380 airliner at every turn, competing for orders across the globe.

They are not direct competitors....its seems that mag may have mixed up A350/A380.

British Airways all-business class service BA3 from London City to New York JFK is pictured flying over Portarlington, Co. Laois. The flight was operated by A318 G-EUNA and was descending to Shannon Airport. The flight makes a stop at Shannon to refuel and for its customers to clear US pre-clearance at the Airport. Are you sure you have the right pic? the BA underbelly is dark and that looks a bit too big for a 318

Why is the Tri colour on the tail of EI-ICR the wrong way around?

That's the same on all aircraft. Flag is 'flown' from the front of the aircraft and the green is the colour nearest the flagpole.

Thanks Cookiemunster, so am I correct in assuming that the Tri Colour on the other side of The EI Retro is also the other way around?

Not just aircraft. Colours should always be displayed advancing... You'll notice it on the shoulder patches of US troops too, the flag worn on the right shoulder is reversed...

Temporary livery (as discussed ad nauseum at this point) due to longer than expected cabin refit issues. (Pics elsewhere show that EI refited the whole cabin so there are PTVs in Economy) The 2nd of the 3 B757's ferried to Norwich today for painting. Once they can use it for flights then the one pictured above will get its full painting.

Ah good :D (not all of us follow the Aer Lingus fleet discussion thread as it's long enough to induce nauseum...)

Why paint the tail so and aer lingus on the side surely they could have done the whole thing before having it fly into dublin. It looks god awful. As publicity is concerned this was a kinda fumbled ball dont you think. They missed the whole pomp and ceremony inaugurating a new aircraft.

As discussed on several aviation internet fora......the cabin refit ran into issues which delayed entry into the hanger. The decision was taken to start the route with this interim livery rather than delay the route launch by 7-14 days (with the ensuing costs and PR negativity) just to launch with a pretty plane. Once the 2nd aircraft is fully painted then this one will be grounded to get the fuselage in green.

On another note the white/green combo isnt too bad IMO.

Reminds me of when they first leased the Tristar... Didn't like that either! ;)

It looks cheap and quickly done (which it no doubt is, being temporary) and it does let the brand down.
The question is though, wouldn't not starting the service on time have let the brand down even more again? It's definitely the right move, even if it doesn't appeal to my sense of aesthetics!

Seriously ?! Look at the two post before yours.

Quick question, why is the 757 looking so patched up and not the same livery as the the rest of the fleet?

It is indeed a fantastic picture, some classics there, just wondering was the picture taken from the air? Just seems to be very high up, even if it was from the ATC tower.
